Pepper prices today in some key growing areas remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Accordingly, the domestic pepper price level is from 155,500 VND/kg to 157,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 157,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 155,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dak Nong is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 157,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau are currently at 156,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 156,000 VND/kg.

In addition, pepper price today in Binh Phuoc is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 156,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices in key growing areas remained stable today compared to yesterday. According to Ms. Phung Thu Huyen, Director of Nam International Company Limited, the number of new export orders is currently quite low. Even the US market, which used to have high demand, is currently only continuing to deliver according to old contracts, with no strong buying wave to take advantage of the 90-day tax deferral period.

Therefore, domestic pepper prices have recently tended to stagnate. Importers still have inventory, so they are waiting for a more attractive price drop before deciding to continue buying.

On the growers’ side, most farmers are currently reluctant to sell when the price has not reached the expected level. They are expecting a price of 160,000 to 180,000 VND/kg, and some places even expect up to 200,000 VND/kg, causing transactions between sellers and buyers to not match.

Ms. Huyen added that most pepper farmers now have additional income from other crops such as coffee, durian or cocoa, so they are less pressured to sell immediately after harvest. In addition, pepper is also an agricultural product that is easy to preserve, allowing farmers to proactively keep their goods waiting for prices to increase. This is an advantage that helps them maintain stability in pepper production and business.

Although domestic transactions have slowed down, exports are still bustling. According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first half of April alone, Vietnam exported 10,413 tons of pepper, earning about 72 million USD.

Exported pepper products are very diverse, including whole black pepper, ground black pepper, whole white pepper, ground white pepper and even pickled pepper. Each type is produced to suit the specific processing requirements of each international market.

The pepper processing process is also carried out carefully and professionally. From black pepper purchased in bulk from farmers, businesses clean, classify the size, then continue to process into many different forms such as white pepper, ground pepper or high-end products. The goal is to meet the increasingly strict standards of export markets around the world.

Pepper price today April 26 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on April 25 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,102 per tonne. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,612 per tonne.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,900/mt.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,300/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,900/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of 500 gr/l black pepper in Vietnam reached 6,800 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,900 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,800/ton.
