Gold, oil and USD prices all go down

At the end of the trading session on October 23, the price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Ho Chi Minh City was listed at 70.1 million VND per tael for buying and 70.8 million VND per tael for selling. The price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Hanoi was at 70.1 million VND per tael for buying and 70.82 million VND per tael for selling.

Doji gold bar price in Hanoi is traded at 69.95 million VND per tael for buying and 70.8 million VND per tael for selling.

The international spot gold price on Kitco floor at 9:00 p.m. on October 23, Vietnam time was at 1,989.9 USD per ounce. The gold futures price was at 1,985.9 USD per ounce.

On the stock market , at the end of the session on October 23, VN-Index decreased by 14.5 points, down to 1,093.53 points. HNX-Index decreased by 2.19 points, down to 226.26 points. UPCoM-Index decreased by 0.35 points, down to 85.27 points.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on October 23 was 24,090 VND per USD, down 20 VND compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, the USD price at commercial banks on October 23 increased quite strongly, closing the session listed around 24,390-24,760 VND per USD (buy - sell).

The world USD price on October 23 decreased slightly. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against 6 major currencies - at 9:26 p.m. on October 23, Vietnam time was traded at 106.03 points, down 0.12% compared to the previous session.

Oil prices on the world market continued to weaken today, October 24, following a downward trend since the beginning of the week. Oil prices fell as diplomatic efforts from Europe and the US were stepped up to contain conflicts in the Middle East.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of October 23 of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, gasoline and oil prices are adjusted up slightly.

Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline increased by 460 VND per liter, the selling price is 22,360 VND per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline increased by 470 VND per liter, the selling price is not higher than 23,510 VND per liter.

Meanwhile, diesel prices increased by VND70 per liter, to VND22,480 per liter. Kerosene retail prices increased by VND290 per liter, to VND22,750 per liter.
