Gold price hits new peak of 107 million VND/tael

At 9:15 a.m., SJC and Doji listed the price of gold bars at VND104.5 - 107 million/tael, up VND1.5 million/tael (buy) and VND500,000/tael (sell) compared to early this morning. This is the highest price in the history of gold prices.

At the same time, the price of gold rings was listed at 101.8 - 104.8 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 600,000 VND/tael in the buying direction compared to early this morning.

Domestic gold prices increased sharply today as world gold prices continued to set new peaks. On the morning of April 14, world gold prices were listed on Kitco at $3,221/ounce, unchanged from early yesterday morning.

Gold prices remain high amid the escalating global trade war following the US President's decision to impose tariffs, causing investors to flock to gold to find a safe haven.

Looking at the current scenario, both experts and retail investors are optimistic about the precious metal in the short term.

A weaker US dollar and market uncertainty will push gold to new record highs, with the next price to watch at $3,300 an ounce and then $3,500 an ounce, said Bannockburn Global Forex CEO Marc Chandler.

Adrian Day, chairman of Adrian Day Asset Management, said the latest correction, like the recent ones, was short-lived and shallow. He said gold has momentum and there are still many people who want to participate in the market.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Huan, the domestic gold price prediction in the coming time is that the price will not increase continuously but will have alternating increases and decreases.

"I think the gold price could jump to 110 million VND/tael sooner than I previously predicted. When the gold price was at 106 million VND/tael, it only took two strong increases to reach 110 million VND/tael," Mr. Huan emphasized.

Dr. Nguyen Tri Hieu also analyzed that the reason for the sharp increase in gold prices this time comes from the information that President Donald Trump postponed the imposition of reciprocal tariffs for 90 days with most of the countries on the previously announced list. This information helps stabilize market sentiment.

However, the fact that the US and China are showing signs of entering a trade war by continuously imposing high tariffs on each other has had a strong impact on all global financial markets, including gold as a safe haven.

Therefore, Mr. Hieu predicts that gold prices will continue to increase in the coming days.
