The 2nd International 7-a-side Football Tournament held in Vietnam

Following the success of the tournaments in 2023 and the reputation and prestige after the first time held in 2022, VietFootball and sponsors organize the Wika Cup 2024 International 7-a-side Football Tournament. The second time the tournament is held is to maintain a meaningful annual playground for football teams in the Southeast Asian region. The tournament aims to raise the level of 7-a-side football in Vietnam and internationally to develop football together, creating sustainable values for the community.

Speaking at the tournament announcement ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Hoang Yen highly appreciated the significance of the tournament. "The tournament is a practical and useful playground for football lovers, bringing health and joy, contributing to the community, contributing to promoting the development of the football movement across the country", the Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports emphasized.

The 2024 International 7-a-side Football Tournament will be contested by two Vietnamese representatives, Dai Tu Club (champion of the 2023 National 7-a-side Football Tournament) and Hieu Hoa - Quahaco Club (champion of the 2023 National 7-a-side Football Cup) along with Nongpookao x Nongpoothan Club from Thailand and Kickerz Club from Malaysia. The tournament will help promote the unique form of football in Vietnam by creating opportunities for teams in Southeast Asia to compete and exchange, along with the goal of introducing Vietnam's beautiful football culture to the region and the world .

The tournament was successful thanks to the contribution of sponsors.

Thailand's Nongpookao x Nongpoothan Club is the second team from the Land of the Golden Temple to come to Vietnam to participate in the International 7-a-side Football Tournament. In the first time held at the end of 2022, Ghost Gate Club left a big mark when it won the runner-up position and only lost to the Vietnam 7-a-side Football Team with a score of 2-3 in the "final match of the tournament". And the representative of Thailand chosen to go to Hanoi this year is the champion of the 5th Kool Supporters Football Kub, a large-scale tournament, gathering up to 630 teams from all provinces and cities of this country.

Meanwhile, Kickerz Club with players trained from Kickerz Football Academy will be the representative of Malaysia to Vietnam to participate in the 7-a-side tournament of Southeast Asia, not Jcorp Data Sukan Club like in this tournament 1 year ago.

The 2024 Wika Cup International 7-a-side Football Tournament continues to cooperate with VTVCab to produce and broadcast matches on VTVCab channels and platforms.
