Walking race "Supporting women to overcome difficulties in Can Gio district"

(CPV) - The walking race "Supporting women to overcome difficulties in Can Gio district" is a meaningful activity of the Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation Trade Union on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day October 20.

  Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation (EVNHCMC) Trade Union organized a walking race to support women overcoming difficulties in Can Gio district.

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Kim Thanh - Vice President of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC, Mr. Le Van Minh - Chairman of EVNHCMC Trade Union and nearly 300 officers and employees of EVNHCMC.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha said that the walking race “Supporting women to overcome difficulties in Can Gio district” is a meaningful activity of EVNHCMC Trade Union on the occasion of October 20 - the anniversary and honor of Vietnamese women. The Board of Directors of the Corporation also hopes that through this activity, it will encourage workers to maintain the habit of exercising, playing sports , improving their health, and at the same time raise funds to encourage and help women in difficult circumstances in Can Gio district.

At exactly 8:30 a.m., the walking group departed from Can Gio District Sports and Gymnasium and traveled a 5km route. The Organizing Committee awarded First, Second, Third and Encouragement prizes to men and women.

The total prize money of 60,000,000 VND was donated by the athletes and given to the Can Gio District Women's Union to give to women in difficult circumstances in the area.

After the walking race, the Board of Directors of the Corporation and the EVNHCMC Trade Union organized a meeting of female employees of the Corporation to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day October 20.
