Combining the facial biometric data authentication method with the Vizone Access solution integrating living entity verification technology (developed by VinBigdata Company) when transacting online, customers will be maximally protected against sophisticated identity forgery methods and save time performing operations. Maximum user protection with 0% error technology After nearly a month of implementation, facial biometric data authentication for online banking transfers or e-wallet top-ups of 10 million VND or more has received support from many users due to its high security. However, there are still many cases reflecting that performing facial authentication on some banking applications is still easily "bypassed" by the photo authentication method available on phones, tablets, etc.

“I tried transferring money on two banking apps. When it came to the authentication step, I didn’t scan my face but used a selfie photo available on my phone. After that, only one bank reported an error, the other bank still allowed the transfer normally. Many of my acquaintances have encountered the same situation,” said Mr. HTTien, a construction engineer in Hanoi .

Explaining this issue, Dr. Nguyen Quy Ha - Director of VinBigdata Image Analysis Technology (under Vingroup Corporation ) said: "Some facial authentication solutions can be fooled by images, videos , masks or deepfakes if they do not integrate liveness detection technology. This technology helps identify real users, detect fake cases, send warnings to the system and disable suspicious transactions." As one of the pioneers in researching and developing AI products applying computer vision in Vietnam , VinBigdata has completed the Vizone Access solution integrating liveness verification technology, focusing on the field of face recognition and anti-fake. Thanks to the integration of new generation eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) technology, this solution can easily detect fraud cases using portraits printed on paper or digitally, videos with pre-edited human faces... With the ability to protect users to the maximum, this solution has just received a global certificate for the ability to identify real people and detect identity fraud in the second quarter of 2024. Specifically, Vizone Access has passed iBeta's Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) Level 1 test according to ISO/IEC 30107-3 standard, with an extremely strict process, requiring high data quality and technical requirements. “VinBigdata has devoted a lot of resources to training and testing the recognition ability on tens of thousands of face samples [VMNV(BB1]. Thanks to that, the error rate when recognizing real people and detecting fake faces of Vizone Access is evaluated by iBeta at 0%, which means we do not miss any fake cases and vice versa, nor do we misidentify any real users as fake faces,” emphasized Dr. Nguyen Quy Ha. In addition to iBeta's certificate, Vizone Access also meets the evaluation criteria of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), becoming one of the few "made in Vietnam" face recognition solutions to be ranked by this unit. Reduce up to 80% of identity authentication time Not only ensuring maximum security for customers, the new generation eKYC technology also makes information authentication simple and convenient for users. Currently, the identity authentication process, especially the face scanning and card reading steps Citizen identification cards with chips for information verification are not really easy for many people. This greatly affects the operation and building of customer experience at businesses providing banking and financial services. VinBigdata's eKYC solution can help businesses save up to 80% of customer identification time compared to traditional methods, while preventing 99% of common identity fraud cases, increasing customer experience. Specifically, according to Dr. Nguyen Quy Ha, with Passive Liveness Detection technology, users only need 1 second to take a selfie to authenticate their face, without having to perform many complicated operations. Next, the solution will identify users through five common types of personal documents, including: identity card, citizen identification card (with and without chip), passport (with and without chip). In particular, chip-attached documents can be authenticated in two ways, which are traditional optical character recognition (OCR) technology and NFC technology with a processing speed of less than 3 seconds. Not only stopping at customer identification, VinBigdata's facial recognition technology is also applied in many domestic and foreign enterprises, to control access to specialized areas, check employee attendance, identify VIP guests or detect suspicious people in buildings and urban areas... In order to upgrade and further improve the product, VinBigdata is currently continuing to optimize the algorithm to soon achieve Level 2 anti-counterfeiting certification, with the ability to detect deepfake videos, silicon masks... thereby completely preventing sophisticated identity forgery behaviors, protecting users from high-tech crimes.
iBeta is a member of the FIDO (Fast Identity Online Alliance). It is also the only unit recognized by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for its evaluation criteria. In addition to the international standard ISO/IEC 30107-3, iBeta also combines many other rigorous standards to test facial biometric solutions, providing the most objective and accurate results.
