Late on the evening of January 26 (December 27), the fashion street vendors in District 5 (HCMC) were still waiting for each customer on the street to stop by and look at their goods. They sell all kinds of fashion items, from clothes, handbags, shoes to accessories... at extremely low prices, most of which are less than 100,000 VND/item.

"I barely sold anything this afternoon. I'm trying my best during the last two peak days before the new year 2025. It's very discouraging to sell wholesale during Tet like this," a merchant complained.

For only 100,000 VND, customers can buy up to 3 T-shirts or shorts. The price couldn’t be any cheaper, but this stall was deserted and empty.

Many customers stopped by to look but did not buy. "Before, it was crowded on weekends, and during Tet, customers kept coming and going all night. Now there are fewer and fewer customers. Maybe they buy online and don't like to go shopping for clothes themselves anymore," said Ms. Thuy (a fashion clothing seller).

Promotional signs, sales with the same price of only 49K, 99K are placed right on the sidewalk... In many places, employees even go out onto the street to invite customers, but the business situation has not improved.

"Everything on this street is cheap, so I often come here to shop. I thought Tet would be busy with customers, but now it's not much different from normal days. The goods here are of high quality, with returns and exchanges, suitable for low-income people, students..." - a female customer living in District 6 said.

A rare ao dai stall that has many customers coming to see and choose to buy. The prices of ao dai here are very "soft", only from 350,000 - 650,000 VND/set. Customers who buy 2 - 3 sets will get a further discount.
