Since 2019, Dam Rong district has issued Resolution 12 on comprehensive and sustainable agricultural production, gradually applying high technology. The local agricultural sector has also gradually improved over the years. In the period of 2021 - 2023, Dam Rong district has implemented 4 tasks of applying and transferring science and technology. All applications and transfers serve agricultural production activities for local people such as seedling incubation technology, growing Beef tomatoes on substrates using drip irrigation technology... Through assessment, the basic models are suitable for the needs, natural conditions, and production practices of the people, gradually bringing scientific and technical advances for people to apply in production, improving economic efficiency.

Currently, the Department of Science and Technology is also implementing the provincial-level rural mountainous project "Application of technical advances for sustainable development of mulberry cultivation and silkworm breeding in Dam Rong district" in 3 communes of Da Long, Da Tong, Da M'rong (Dam Rong district). From this model, many farmers have applied and achieved outstanding results (from 700 million VND to 1.2 billion VND/ha/year). In addition, Dam Rong district is also applying science and technology to convert ineffective crop areas to grow crops that bring high economic efficiency such as: converting ineffective production land along rivers and streams to grow mulberry and silkworm; replanting and grafting to improve old, low-yield coffee gardens; intercropping fruit trees in coffee gardens...

With many of the above scientific and technological solutions, by the end of 2024, Dam Rong district will have about 1,099 hectares of high-tech agricultural production land with main crops including: vegetables, commercial flowers, fruit trees and other industrial crops... The whole district has 15 chains linking the production and consumption of agricultural products such as: silkworm cocoons, vegetables, tubers, fruits, macadamia, durian, pineapple, lychee, rice, sturgeon with over 1,100 participating households, agricultural output through the chain is over 11,500 tons. The whole district has 18 products recognized as 3-star OCOP and all of these products are put on e-commerce platforms. Most recently, 2 products of Dam Rong durian and pineapple have been granted the right to use the trademark. These are the first 2 products of this locality to be granted the trademark. This opens up a sustainable direction for this difficult district.

According to Mr. Truong Huu Dong - Chairman of Dam Rong District People's Committee, the locality is implementing tasks according to the contents and solutions in Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, Resolution No. 03 of the Government and the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation suitable to the conditions of Dam Rong district. Particularly in 2025, the locality will focus on tasks of applying 4.0 technology to solve urgent issues such as: Managing irrigation works, forest fire warning, forest management, research and conservation of cultural heritage of ethnic minorities; applying technical advances in managing the production of key local agricultural products; applying digital technology in managing programs, topics, and science and technology projects, etc. Promoting intellectual property activities, registering many geographical indications; Deploy the district's traceability system, connecting with the national traceability system for key products in the area. Attract and develop science and technology enterprises, creative startups to operate and do business locally.

To achieve the set goals, Dam Rong district is implementing solutions to raise awareness, make breakthroughs in innovative thinking, determine strong political determination, resolutely lead and direct, create new momentum, new spirit in the whole society in developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Accordingly, the locality has promoted the dissemination and study of resolutions and implementation of plans of higher levels on science and technology development, digital transformation, innovation, etc. throughout the political system so that units and localities can clearly understand and proactively implement them. The tasks of digital transformation, science and technology development, and innovation are specifically defined in the annual work programs and plans of agencies, organizations, units, and localities. The implementation results are the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of task performance, and evaluating emulation and annual rewards.
