More specifically, in the 73rd minute, referee Michael Oliver gave Paqueta a yellow card after he fouled Mikey Moore (Tottenham) in an attempt to stop the away team's counterattack.

The camera lens caught the moment Paqueta choked up, quickly wiping away tears with his sleeve, an emotional reaction to the decision of the "king in black".

Immediately, Paqueta waved his arms to show his displeasure. Despite referee Michael Oliver calling the player wearing the number 10 shirt back to warn him, Paqueta refused and remained in his position, forcing his teammates to quickly intervene and calm the Brazilian player's anger.

Coach Graham Potter then decided to take Paqueta and three other teammates off the pitch, with the score still at 1-1. There were no more goals scored in the remaining minutes of the match.

This incident comes as Paqueta is facing a serious investigation from the English Football Association (FA) over allegations related to match-fixing.

According to the Daily Mail , the expected three-week hearing failed to come to an end, pushing the Brazilian midfielder into anxious days waiting for the next trial.

The Brazilian star is trying to clear his name amid serious allegations that he deliberately received yellow cards to influence betting. If found guilty, Paqueta could face a lifetime ban.

In the midst of the storm, Duda Fournier, Paqueta's wife, shared on Instagram on May 4: "For the past two years, we have had to live in this nightmare, and my husband has always tried to be strong. I just hope everyone puts themselves in his shoes, don't be cruel and unjust when you don't know the truth."

Meanwhile, coach Graham Potter appeared quite calm about his student's reaction. "I think Lucas was probably just a bit tired. They had a difficult match with constant travel. I have not had a private conversation with Lucas about that incident yet."
