- Educational innovation starts with teachers
- Creating a modern educational foundation
Growing up from hardship
The tradition of studiousness and patriotism of the people of Ca Mau was fostered in a revolutionary educational environment. During the war, teachers not only taught but also performed revolutionary duties, protecting liberated areas. Many shining examples stand the test of time, typically Teacher - Hero of the People's Armed Forces Phan Ngoc Hien , who inspired patriotism in many generations of students.

After liberation, Ca Mau education still faced many difficulties: makeshift schools, lack of equipment, and an inconsistent teaching staff. In remote areas, literacy was still the dream of children. In that context, the image of dedicated teachers in class and school became a symbol of responsibility and devotion.

Currently, the education sector in Ca Mau has more than 760 units, nearly 24,200 teachers and more than 387,000 students. The infrastructure system has been invested synchronously, and the number of national standard schools has increased rapidly. The province has achieved the highest standard of universal education for 5-year-old preschool, primary and secondary schools; 100% of preschools teach 2 sessions/day and 96% have boarding schools; 97% of primary schools, more than 32% of secondary schools and over 61% of high schools teach 2 sessions/day. Projects to improve the quality of infrastructure, teach 2 sessions/day and renovate school toilets are being implemented, aiming for a safe, friendly and modern learning environment.

The development of Ca Mau education is closely linked to the nation's traditional morality of "respecting teachers and valuing education". On the occasion of the annual celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20, the province, the education sector and schools organize many meaningful activities to express gratitude to those who have devoted themselves to the cause of "cultivating people".
Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Nam, former Principal of Bac Lieu High School, emotionally shared: “In the past or today, in any situation, the teacher-student relationship is very precious. For me, when I meet my old students again, even though decades have passed, the feelings are still as complete as ever.”
Innovation to break through
Along with the development of facilities, the movement of innovation in teaching and learning is strongly implemented. Many modern models such as STEM, Robotics, smart classrooms, and e-schools are widely applied, improving the quality of education and creating opportunities for students to access modern knowledge. Scientific research competitions and academic playgrounds help students develop comprehensively in terms of capacity and qualities.

Mr. Tran Quang Dien, Principal of Vo Van Kiet High School (Phuoc Long Commune), shared: "These innovations not only improve the quality of teaching and learning but also motivate teachers to improve their expertise and update new methods."
Faced with opportunities and challenges of integration, the Ca Mau education sector is determined to maintain traditional values, while boldly innovating, applying digital technology and building an open learning environment.
Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, emphasized: “We prioritize improving the quality of our staff, innovating teaching methods, developing students' qualities and abilities. The sector focuses on soft skills, digital citizenship skills, expanding the green - safe - happy school model, especially in remote areas. The goal is to build a fair, modern and sustainable education system, so that every Ca Mau student can develop comprehensively and confidently integrate into the new context.”
