
The scholarship program includes 1 year of Vietnamese language study and 5 years of engineering program, with full tuition, accommodation, living expenses, insurance and round-trip airfare. The selected majors focus on PTIT's strengths and Sri Lanka's development needs such as Information Technology, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering and Internet of Things (IoT).
Speaking at the scholarship announcement ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Trinh Thi Tam emphasized: “PTIT is one of Vietnam’s leading training institutions in the field of information and communication technology in Vietnam. I believe that the scholarship recipients will not only acquire modern knowledge but also become a bridge of friendship, enhancing cooperation and exchange between the two countries.”

The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam will continue to promote educational and training cooperation with Sri Lanka - an area considered to be a potential area between the two countries in the coming time, and highly appreciated PTIT for its close coordination in implementing this program.
The scholarship students come from many localities such as Kandy, Matara and Ambakote, most of whom are children of families whose parents are members of Sri Lankan political parties such as the Communist Party of Sri Lanka and the JVP, have excellent academic records and wish to access Vietnam's advanced education.

Student Viduka Gimhana Dhammage from Kandy shared: “I am extremely honored to be selected. This is a great opportunity for me to study and develop in the field of technology - a priority industry in Sri Lanka. I will do my best to not disappoint the trust of the Government and people of Vietnam."
Ms. Ho Thi My Ai, parent of student Chandrasooriya Jinali Thawinsa, emotionally said: “My family is grateful to the Vietnamese Government, the Embassy and PTIT for opening up this precious opportunity. My daughter not only learned knowledge but also became more deeply attached to my beloved homeland Vietnam.”
According to PTIT, the scholarship program exclusively for Sri Lankan students is designed according to international standards, combining theory - practice - global digital skills, helping students to be ready for the international technology environment.
