On the afternoon of July 20, at the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Tuyen Quang province held a memorial service and presented gifts of gratitude on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, July 27.

Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thich Gia Quang, Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Tuyen Quang province; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the Provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; and Buddhist monks and nuns in the province.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation burned incense to express their respect and deeply remember the great contributions of the heroic martyrs, who did not hesitate to fight and sacrifice for the cause of protecting the Fatherland, regaining peace , independence, freedom and national unity.

Tuyen Quang Province Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of over 300 martyrs, the nation's outstanding sons who heroically sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against French colonialism, American imperialism and to protect the border.

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Tuyen Quang province organized a memorial ceremony as a meaningful activity, expressing the gratitude of monks, nuns and Buddhists to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. This is also an opportunity to educate the tradition of patriotism and national pride for the present and future generations.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Tuyen Quang province presented 20 gifts to policy families, meritorious people, war invalids and sick soldiers in the province, each gift worth 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag.
