Teachers in Ho Chi Minh City receive Tet gifts worth 1.8 million VND/person

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just announced to schools about the regulations on giving Tet gifts to teachers according to the regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

On January 15, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced to schools about spending Tet gifts for teachers according to the regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on organizing activities and funding to take care of Tet At Ty in 2025.

Accordingly, based on Official Dispatch No. 237/STC-HCSN dated January 10, 2025 of the Department of Finance on guidance on funding sources to implement the plan to care for Tet At Ty in 2025, the Department of Education and Training deployed to schools the implementation of spending Tet gifts for teachers, officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers at the unit with a spending level of VND 1,800,000/person.

Ho Chi Minh City regulates the funding source for Tet gift money for teachers as follows: For public service units that self-guarantee regular expenses, public service units that self-guarantee a part of regular expenses, self-balance from autonomous budget sources, and the unit's revenue to pay for gifts.

For administrative agencies and public service units whose regular expenditures are guaranteed by the State, the city budget shall supplement the budget estimate to spend on Tet gifts for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the unit.

In the immediate future, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to pay Tet gifts to officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers from the allocated budget in the 2025 budget. At the same time, units have written requests to supplement the 2025 budget.
