Many young people are excited to experience handicrafts for the first time. |
Ms. Tran Vu Thuy Vy - CEO - Co-Founders of Lang An Crafts said that in the context of traditional Vietnamese craft villages facing many challenges such as lack of investment, research, decreasing rate of artisans, scarce raw materials, uncreative products and little interest from young people, Lang An Crafts was born with the desire to contribute to preserving, conserving and promoting cultural values - traditional handicrafts with strong national identity.

After a long time of research in famous handicraft villages, Thuy Vy and her colleagues realized that handicrafts in Vietnam are gradually fading away and are difficult to access because they are passed down from father to son. To maintain and develop traditional craft villages or occupations, it is necessary to have young successors. Therefore, Thuy Vy wants to bring this field closer to young people to inspire the preservation of the country's culture. Combining with a team of researchers of traditional handicraft products and occupations in Vietnam, Lang An Crafts builds occupations such as pottery, mosaic, clay flower painting, etc.
“Despite the rapid development of technology, handicrafts are still an extremely valuable part of humanity. And we cannot let them fade away or disappear forever. We realize that we need to make practical efforts to preserve this precious heritage, because handicrafts are not only art but also a symbol of long-standing traditions, the soul of national culture. Understanding that, we are even more eager to bring the handicraft sector to the community,” Ms. Thuy Vy added.

In addition to craft workshops, they also accept custom-made products, combine with domestic and international tours, organize short-term and long-term classes, and exhibit paintings... The core values that the founders of Lang An Crafts aim for are creativity and modernization to attract young people; sustainable development in culture - economy - environment; connecting the community of artisans and art lovers; inspiring creative culture; protecting the environment by using friendly, recyclable materials; cooperating with local authorities to preserve traditional crafts; creating jobs for young people who are passionate about crafts.
Although it has not been in operation for long, thanks to its new operating model, Lang An has attracted many different types of customers, especially young people. During her trip to Da Lat this summer, Ms. Thuy Duyen (Ho Chi Minh City) registered her child for a pottery class at Lang An. Because she hopes that through this, her two children will have a new experience, training them to focus and be patient instead of using phones or electronic devices. At the same time, the whole family experiencing together also enhances communication and connection with each other.

This is also the choice for entertainment of young people. |
With a duration of about 1 - 3 hours per session, each guest not only learns about theory but also practices on their own products. All workshops are prepared with materials, tools as well as detailed instructions by the staff so that customers can understand the process and spirit of the finished product. Each guest participating in the workshop experiences molding clay on a turntable, shaping, polishing, painting, etc. with the guidance of the staff, then sending it back to the pottery workshop at the facility to wait for drying, glazing and firing, then packing and shipping to the customer's address as requested.

The joy of making unique products yourself |
“This is the first time I have been exposed to pottery. Making a pottery product is not too difficult but requires meticulousness, concentration and attention to every movement and every stroke to create a satisfactory product. And no matter how ugly or beautiful it is, it is still a product made with your own creativity,” said Nguyen Hoai Van (Da Lat City).
In an effort to preserve and spread traditional culture and art, young people with passion and enthusiasm are the core to promote and introduce to tourists, while constantly creating new and unique products to meet the needs of domestic and foreign tourists, so that international friends can see the best of traditional Vietnamese handicrafts.
