The most obvious improvement to the headphones is the overall design with a new transparent color option, a black option, gold accents, and an ivory color option.
Aside from the new color, the Studio Buds+ are essentially the same as the original Studio Buds. However, Beats says that 95% of the internals are brand new, including three times larger microphones for improved audio quality, as well as a completely new mic port and vent design. Like the previous model, the Studio Buds+ also include IPX4 sweat and water resistance to withstand weather and workouts.
In addition, Studio Buds+ also offers new ultra-small eartip options along with the previous generation's small, medium and large sizes so users can choose to fit their ears.
Additionally, the multi-function “b” button on each earbud has been redesigned to be less prone to accidental presses and provide a more secure feel. It will provide controls such as a single press to play/pause music, a double press to go back to the previous song, and a triple press to skip.
A long press lets you toggle between ANC and transparency modes, but users can also change settings to activate smart assistants or adjust the volume up or down. Call handling can also be customized to require one or two presses to end a call.
In addition to ANC and Transparency mode, Beats Studio Buds+ also support Spatial Audio sound quality on Apple Music.
Instead of using Apple's H1 or H2 chip, the Beats Studio Buds+ are equipped with a second-generation Beats chip, providing many of the same features as Apple's chip such as "Hey Siri", Find My support, automatic device switching via iCloud, etc. When used with Android smartphones, these headphones will provide features such as Find My Device, one-touch pairing, and automatic pairing with all devices linked to the same Google account.
With an improved vent design and ANC processing now built into the main chipset, the Studio Buds+ have up to 1.6x better ANC than the previous generation and up to 2x better pass-through mode performance. Each earbud also includes playback calibration, which attempts to remove residual audio artifacts that can be introduced by ANC processing or pass-through mode.
The Studio Buds+ offer up to 9 hours of battery life with ANC and Transparency turned off. Combined with the charging case, that number increases to 36 hours, 50% more than the previous generation. With ANC or Transparency turned on, you get 6 hours of use on a single charge, with an additional 18 hours available from the charging case.
The Studio Buds+ charging case uses a USB-C port for charging and does not support wireless charging. The product is currently priced at $ 169.99 (about 3.99 million VND).
