Hung Yen is located on the left bank of the Red River, the center of the Northern Delta, a land with a long-standing cultural tradition. With a favorable geographical location, flat terrain, bordering Bac Ninh province to the north, Hanoi city to the northwest, Hai Duong province to the east, Thai Binh province to the south, Ha Nam province to the southwest, and is fertilized by two large rivers, the Red River and the Luoc River, creating for Hung Yen green rice and corn fields, large lotus ponds and famous delicious specialties such as longan, honey, lotus seeds...

Along with the history of thousands of years of building and defending the country of our ancestors, Hung Yen has become a sacred land, the birthplace of many famous people and national heroes in the fields of economics, politics, culture and society such as: Pham Bach Ho, Do The Dien, Pham Ngu Lao, Nguyen Trung Ngan, Le Nhu Ho, Doan Thi Diem, famous physician Le Huu Trac, Nguyen Thien Thuat, Hoang Hoa Tham, To Hieu, General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh... Through the historical process, the previous generations have left thousands of valuable relics on Hung Yen land, which are architectural works: Communal houses, temples, pagodas, shrines, mausoleums... Many famous historical and cultural relics such as Da Hoa temple, Da Trach temple associated with the legend of Chu Dong Tu - Princess Tien Dung is one of the "Four Immortals" of Vietnam, Phu Ung temple where General Pham Ngu Lao is worshiped, especially the Pho Hien relic complex, which is a testament to a prosperous period of Pho Hien - Hung Yen.

As a cultured province, Hung Yen still preserves thousands of valuable relics. Currently, the province has a total of 1,802 relics, including 03 relics ranked at the special national level, 175 relics ranked at the national level (the province ranks 3rd in the country in terms of the number of relics ranked at the national level), 264 relics ranked at the provincial level, 6 national treasures. These are precious assets, the core of the national cultural identity and the pride of the people of Hung Yen.
