Maintain the leading position in the School Sports tournament

At the Provincial School Sports Tournament for the 2024-2025 school year, the Tuy Hoa City Department of Education and Training excellently won the first place in the entire delegation, the Department of Education and Training in the province. This is an achievement that this unit has maintained for nearly 10 consecutive years at provincial sports tournaments organized by the Department of Education and Training.

The provincial school sports tournament (SSC) for the 2024-2025 school year has 2,190 student athletes from 42 units, including 9 Departments of Education and Training and 33 high schools competing in 8 sports: football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, athletics, shuttlecock, badminton, table tennis. Participating in the tournament, the Department of Education and Training of Tuy Hoa City sent nearly 160 outstanding athletes to compete in the events and won the leading position of the whole delegation.

Leading the competition

In 8 competitions, Tuy Hoa City athletes won 41 gold medals, 28 silver medals, and 27 bronze medals. With this achievement, Tuy Hoa City Department of Education and Training ranked first overall, far surpassing the second-placed unit, Son Hoa District Department of Education and Training (30 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals). This is a worthy achievement for the efforts of teachers and students in investing in facilities and training.

Of the 96 medals at the Provincial Athletics Championships for the 2024-2025 school year, the Tuy Hoa City Department of Education and Training promoted the strengths of the following sports: swimming, basketball, athletics, table tennis... In which, swimming is the "mine of medals", with athletes winning 31 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 10 bronze medals; athletics: 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 5 bronze medals.

Lam Phuc Dien, class 8A, Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School is one of the excellent athletes participating in the Tuy Hoa City swimming team at the Provincial Swimming Championship for the 2024-2025 school year, winning 3 gold medals (2 gold medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle for men, 1 gold medal in the 4x100m relay for men). Phuc Dien shared: “To be selected for the city team to participate in the Provincial Swimming Championship for the 2024-2025 school year, for the past 2 years, every morning I went to the swimming pool and was trained by my teacher, so I improved my physical strength, endurance, speed... Thanks to that, coming to this provincial swimming tournament, I was very confident in swimming and winning. This is the first time I participated in a provincial swimming tournament and won a gold medal. This achievement has given me more motivation to continue practicing to improve my health and participate in upcoming swimming competitions.”

Tran Bao Uyen, class 9E, Luong The Vinh Secondary School, is also an excellent athlete of Tuy Hoa City participating in the Provincial Sports Tournament for the 2024-2025 school year. Bao Uyen is both an athlete of the athletics team and a player of the city's women's volleyball team. Bao Uyen competed and won 2 gold medals in the high jump and long jump; at the same time, she is a key player helping the women's volleyball team of the Tuy Hoa City Department of Education and Training win a bronze medal. Currently, Bao Uyen is being selected by the Department of Education and Training to join the provincial athletics team to train in preparation for the 2025 National High School Sports Tournament taking place in Hue City from June 9-16.

In order to provide comprehensive education for students according to the 2018 General Education Program, in recent times, the Education sector and Tuy Hoa City People's Committee have not only focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning but also invested in building facilities and developing the sports movement in schools. Every year, schools as well as the Department of Education and Training of Tuy Hoa City organize sports competitions or Phu Dong sports festivals at the school and city levels for students of all grades to participate in practicing and playing sports. At the same time, schools establish and maintain sports clubs, creating playgrounds for students every day. Since then, the sports movement in the whole city has grown stronger and stronger. In addition, parents of schools in Tuy Hoa City are very interested in creating conditions for their children to participate in sports classes and talent courses such as swimming, basketball, table tennis, martial arts, etc. and maintain daily practice to help their children improve their health, develop their stature, and study well.

Thanks to that, the Department of Education and Training has an abundant and quality source of athletes. The overall result of the team at the TTHD Tournament in the 2024-2025 school year and maintaining this achievement for 10 consecutive years is proof of that.

Le Nguyen Phu Quoc, class 8D, Luong The Vinh Secondary School, shared: “To develop my height, in the summer of grade 6, my parents sent me to learn basketball at school. After 2 years of training, I not only improved my height and health, but my teacher also brought me to the school's basketball team to participate in the City-level TTHD Tournament for the 2024-2025 school year. After that, I was selected for the city team to participate in the Provincial TTHD Tournament for the 2024-2025 school year and won a gold medal. Currently, I continue to practice and play basketball to participate with the team members in some basketball tournaments in the summer and in the future."

According to the Head of the Department of Education and Training of Tuy Hoa City, Nguyen Ho Bao Khoi, in recent years, Tuy Hoa City has had favorable facilities such as training grounds, swimming pools, etc. At the same time, parents have been interested in investing in their children to play sports from kindergarten and primary school, so the children have been able to develop their talents and strengths very well. Since then, every year the children have participated in school and city-level sports tournaments and won medals. This is an abundant source of athletes for the Department of Education and Training to select for the advanced training team to prepare for provincial-level sports tournaments and achieve high results.
