120,000 billion VND credit package: Only 3 banks lend capital to social housing project investors - Lang Son Electronic Newspaper

In a report recently sent to the National Assembly, the Ministry of Construction said that so far, three banks have lent capital to investors to build social housing under a preferential loan program of 120,000 billion VND.

Previously, according to Resolution No. 33 dated March 11, 2023 of the Government , state-owned commercial banks Agribank , Vietcombank, BIDV, Vietinbank will participate in a preferential loan program of VND120,000 billion with interest rates 1.5 - 2% lower than the average interbank loan interest rate.

However, up to now, only 3 banks have lent capital to investors of social housing projects, with the amount disbursed for social housing projects in 7 provinces and cities being about 640 billion VND, less than 1% of the package.

Meanwhile, the demand for loans from social housing investors is very large. The Ministry of Construction said that currently, 28 localities have announced a list of 68 projects eligible for loans under the VND120,000 billion credit program with a demand for loans of more than VND30,000 billion. To date, banks have committed to providing credit to 15 projects with an amount of about VND7,000 billion.
