Google I/O is an annual event held by Google to introduce and demonstrate the latest technologies developed by the company. At the Google I/O 2025 event, which officially opened today, Google demonstrated a series of impressive new AI technologies.

Google integrates AI into search engine

The emergence of chatbot tools integrated with artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT, Grok or DeepSeek... has caused the number of Google users to decrease, as many people now rely on these AI tools to quickly look up necessary information, instead of searching for information on Google.

Faced with this situation, Google has integrated artificial intelligence into its search engine.

Accordingly, when users use "AI Mode" when searching on Google, instead of just providing results of websites related to the search keyword as usual, Google will allow users to interact as if they were chatting with an expert, providing answers to the questions that users are facing.

Users can ask questions using text, voice or images… to receive answers from AI. Users can continue the topic of their interest until they receive the most suitable answer.

Currently, the AI Mode feature is only available to users in the US. After a testing period and if successful, Google will soon equip this feature to users globally.

Google Launches AI Video Creation Tool

The race to develop generative AI tools (AI tools capable of generating new content such as text, images, videos, etc.) is also very exciting among the "tech giants". Of course, Google does not want to fall behind in this race.

Accordingly, Google has just launched Flow, an AI tool that allows users to easily create videos from descriptive text.

With Flow, users can use a simple text script to ask the tool to create a video, or provide a few images, along with the desired script, and ask Flow to create the video based on that.

The downside of Flow is that it can only create videos with a maximum length of 8 seconds. However, this AI tool also comes with a feature that allows users to combine short videos into a complete long video.

Flow is currently only available to US users who have subscribed to the Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra plans, where Google AI Pro users can use Flow to create 100 videos per month, while Google AI Ultra users will have no limit on the number of videos they can create.

AI virtual assistant integrated into Chrome web browser

Chrome is currently the computer web browser with the largest number of users in the world , thanks to its advantages in content processing speed, security capabilities... Recently, Google has added to its browser the AI Gemini virtual assistant, helping to better support users during web browsing.

Gemini can help summarize content or clarify complex information on any website a user visits.

In addition, users can also chat with Gemini on Chrome to ask about the content mentioned on the website, instead of having to read the entire page. Not only that, this virtual assistant can also get information from other websites to answer users' questions related to the topic and content on the current website.

For example, when visiting a product sales website, users can ask Gemini to summarize the features, compare the product's price on this website with other sales websites, etc.

Users can also ask the Gemini virtual assistant on Chrome to explain confusing content on websites, convert measurement units on the web to more familiar units...

Initially, the Gemini assistant will be integrated into the Chrome browser on Windows and MacOS for users aged 18 and older who use English as the default language on their devices.

Google representatives said the company is still thinking about whether to integrate the Gemini virtual assistant into the Chrome browser on mobile platforms.

Google Meet allows live voice translation in online meetings

Google has also integrated AI into its Meet video calling tool, allowing users to directly translate the voice content of meeting participants into another, more familiar language.

This live translation feature will be performed in both directions, allowing the speaker and listener to understand each other despite language differences.

Google said the AI feature on Meet still retains the speaker's voice, intonation, and expression after translation.

This feature is currently rolling out as a test for users who subscribe to Google's AI Pro or AI Ultra plans.

Currently, the AI translation feature on Google Meet only supports translation between English and Spanish. Google said it will soon add new languages with many users in the near future.
