Google, Tik Tok, Meta, Netflix... have paid more than 7,250 billion VND in taxes in Vietnam

ANTD.VN - Total tax revenue from foreign providers such as YouTube, Google, Tik Tok, Meta, Netflix has so far reached over 7,250 billion VND. In the first 4 months of 2023 alone, the tax revenue was 3,772 billion VND.

According to the report of the General Department of Taxation, since March 21, 2022, 52 foreign suppliers have registered, declared and paid taxes through the Electronic Information Portal for Foreign Suppliers. Foreign suppliers include many big names such as YouTube, Google, Tik tok, Netflix, Meta (Facebook)...

Currently, the total tax revenue from foreign suppliers to date has reached over VND 7,250 billion. In the first 4 months of 2023 alone, the tax revenue was VND 3,772 billion.

Foreign suppliers and e-commerce platforms have declared and paid taxes on the Electronic Information Portal.

Regarding e-commerce trading floors, the General Department of Taxation said that there are currently 304 organizations that are owners of e-commerce trading floors providing information via the E-commerce Information Portal with 146,967 individuals and 31,635 organizations registered to sell on the floor, with more than 50.2 million transactions and a total transaction value of VND 15,231 billion.

In the coming time, the General Department of Taxation said that it will organize effective tax management for foreign suppliers. At the same time, it will review and urge other suppliers who have not yet registered for tax, declared tax, and paid tax on the General Department of Taxation's electronic information portal; promptly resolve problems so that foreign suppliers can fulfill their tax obligations according to regulations.

The tax authority will also focus on completing the draft Decree amending Decree No. 123/2020/ND-CP dated October 19, 2022 of the Government regulating invoices and documents; Coordinate with the Government Office to complete the Prime Minister's Directive on promoting data sharing connection to serve e-commerce development, prevent tax loss, and ensure monetary security for synthesis.
