Ha Nam always considers investment cooperation with Japan as one of its important tasks.

On behalf of the leaders of Ha Nam province, Provincial Party Secretary Le Thi Thuy sent the warmest welcome to representatives of Japanese enterprises who visited and presented gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024. At the same time, she acknowledged and thanked the contributions of Japanese enterprises to Ha Nam province.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy emphasized that in recent years, Ha Nam has always promoted cooperation with localities and organizations of many countries, especially Japan; Ha Nam always considers investment cooperation with Japan as one of the important tasks to mobilize all resources and promote the socio -economic development of the province.

Currently, in Ha Nam province, there are 369 FDI projects with registered capital of 5.4 billion USD, of which 107 projects are from Japanese investors (accounting for 1/3 of FDI projects), with a total registered investment capital of over 1.3 billion USD (equivalent to 24.2% of total FDI investment capital in Ha Nam). There are many large investors with brands operating very effectively in Ha Nam province such as: Honda, Sumi, YKK, ...

The activities of FDI enterprises investing in Ha Nam, especially Japanese enterprises, have actively contributed to the economic restructuring, increasing the value of industrial production, especially in the fields of supporting industries, manufacturing and processing according to the development orientation of the province; creating jobs for workers, contributing to the budget, actively participating in the social security activities of the province (in 2022, Japanese enterprises contributed 3,351 billion VND to the provincial budget; in 2023, they contributed 2,818 billion VND).

In addition to economic development cooperation, Ha Nam province also successfully organized the Ha Nam Culture and Tourism Week 2023 in response to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations last May. This demonstrates the good and strong cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general and between Ha Nam province and Gunma province, Hyogo province, Kobe city, etc. of Japan in particular.

At the meeting, representatives of Japanese enterprises operating in Dong Van I, Dong Van II and Thanh Liem Industrial Parks, Mr. Iwakoshi Kiyoshi - General Director of Shikoku Cable Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared:

2023 is a year with many difficulties for businesses; the power shortage in the Northern region, and local flooding in Dong Van Industrial Park partly affected the production and business activities of businesses, but with the attention of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the above difficulties have been basically resolved.

In 2024, to facilitate businesses operating in the industrial park, businesses hope that the Ha Nam provincial government will soon have effective solutions to overcome the difficulties that existed in 2023; especially the power shortage, avoiding complete power outages; handling local flooding when heavy rain occurs; unifying the appropriate industrial park management fee; increasing management fees while improving service quality;

We hope that Ha Nam province will have solutions to support businesses in recruiting workers (complete low-cost housing for workers, arrange bus routes, establish public labor introduction centers); implement solutions to ensure traffic safety in industrial parks...

Sharing the difficulties of enterprises, Vice Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee Tran Xuan Duong sympathized with the difficulties of enterprises, and emphasized that these are also the issues that Ha Nam Provincial Government always pays attention to, directs and resolves.

Regarding electricity, Ha Nam province has also worked with Vietnam Electricity to remove difficulties and optimally meet the electricity source for production and business of enterprises.

Regarding the flooding situation, the province has directed the dredging of all canals in the industrial park, digging water collection lakes, striving to complete in April. At the same time, it also directed enterprises to improve the quality of infrastructure services in the industrial park; effectively carry out the work of student orientation, and improve the quality of vocational training.

Regarding housing for workers, Ha Nam is currently implementing 5 social housing projects in the area; drastically implementing solutions to ensure traffic safety in industrial parks...
