Hanoi: Many areas are still flooded; water levels in rivers and lakes remain high.

According to the reporter's records, the area of Dong Thang and Ke Ve streets... especially the internal roads around buildings N02 and N03 of Ecohome3 apartment building (Dong Ngac ward, Hanoi city) are still flooded up to 0.5m deep. Many cars in this area are flooded. Businesses on the first floor of the building where the flooded area is located have had to close and stop operating. Vehicles cannot move through this area.

Notably, due to prolonged heavy rain, the road leading to Dong Ngac Primary School and the school yard were also deeply flooded. The school has now notified students to stay home to ensure safety. According to records, the water levels of inner-city rivers and lakes are still high. As of 6:00 a.m., the To Lich River (Hoang Quoc Viet) was 5.14m; West Lake was 6.25m; Hoan Kiem Lake was 8m (exceeding the controlled water level of 7.7m).

The sluice gates are operating according to the correct procedures, ensuring traffic safety in low-lying areas.

In addition, due to prolonged heavy rain, the Dinh Cong Lake railing collapsed at the section adjacent to Trinh Dinh Cuu Street, the Company has deployed stakes to stretch warning lines when participating in traffic. Some pumping stations had to stop operating and remove pumps due to high water levels such as Dong Da Lake pumping station, Den Lu Lake, Xa Dan Lake, Thanh Cong Lake, Phan Van Truong...

According to the forecast of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, on October 1, Hanoi will continue to have moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The Company continues to closely monitor weather developments, deploy forces to stay close to the scene, and handle flooding. Along with that, the Company also urgently deploys measures to solve drainage, collect garbage at collection stations throughout the management area, and operate at maximum capacity of key pumping stations to lower the water level in the system according to regulations.
