Hanoi "awakens" ecotourism.

With its vast suburban areas and several districts boasting majestic hilly terrain, Hanoi is actively promoting ecotourism development.

Delegates participated in experiencing the cultural beauty of the Ba Vi mountain region at the festival.

On December 9th, at the Ao Vua tourist area (Ba Vi district, Hanoi ), the Hanoi Department of Tourism inaugurated the Hanoi Ecotourism Festival 2023 – Ba Vi Green Experience.

Hanoi is already famous for its cultural and heritage tourism, but since the expansion of its administrative boundaries, the city has gained a vast suburban area, with several districts boasting expansive, majestic hills and mountains with pristine nature, especially Ba Vi district, home to the famous Ba Vi mountain. This opens up a significant advantage for ecotourism.

During the festival, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with Ba Vi district and relevant units, introduced eight eco-tourism areas and sites recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee, including: Hong Van Ornamental Plant Village (Thuong Tin district); Ao Vua Tourist Area, Tan Da Mineral Spring Tourist Area, Thien Son - Suoi Nga Tourist Area, Khoang Xanh - Suoi Tien Tourist Area (Ba Vi district); Dan Phuong Eco-tourism Area (Dan Phuong district); Hoang Long Eco-tourism Site, Thach That district; and Long Ho Village Tourist Site (Son Tay town). Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, emphasized that through the festival, the capital's tourism industry hopes to leverage the advantages of eco-tourism in Ba Vi and the entire city to develop diverse, attractive products that meet the needs of tourists.

Through this, we aim to attract, extend the length of stay, and increase spending of tourists at ecotourism areas and destinations, contributing to sustainable development, environmental protection, and the preservation and promotion of the city's cultural and natural landscape values.

Within the framework of the Festival, there will also be a program to survey ecotourism in Ba Vi district. Delegates will participate in a survey of Amour Resort Ba Vi and Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat in Ba Vi National Park. This will both introduce and promote the image of Ba Vi as an ecotourism destination, connect tour routes, and exchange experiences on promoting Ba Vi ecotourism products.

During the two days of the festival, from December 9th to 10th, at the Ao Vua Eco-tourism Area, there will also be many activities showcasing and introducing tourism potential and products such as: 55 booths promoting eco-tourism and destinations in the Đoài region, introducing eco-tourism tour packages in the city; an exhibition area showcasing traditional craft products and tourism souvenirs…

In addition, there is a traditional culinary experience area showcasing the cuisine of the Đoài region and introducing the "Cultural Features of Hanoi Beer," as well as a space for performing lively and culturally distinctive ethnic activities, including: Muong folk songs, Muong gong music, Muong flute music, Muong gong dance, etc.

The Hanoi Ecotourism Festival 2023 – Ba Vi Green Experience is part of a series of themed activities on Hanoi's ecotourism products in 2023, aiming to promote and develop ecotourism products in the capital city; exploit new, diverse, and attractive ecotourism destinations; and mobilize stakeholders and attract investment resources to develop Hanoi's ecotourism, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural, historical, and natural landscape values. The Hanoi Department of Tourism hopes that through this event, it will continue to build Hanoi's image as a "Safe - Friendly - High-Quality - Attractive" tourist destination.
