With the title “The cities tourists are leaving and where they are heading instead”, Time Out magazine ranked Hanoi - the thousand-year-old capital of Vietnam, at number 11 on this list.
Specifically, the 15 most popular cities for tourists in 2025 include Tokyo (Japan), Rio de Janeiro, (Brazil), Beijing (China); Lucerne (Switzerland), Kuwait (Kuwait), Seville (Spain), Chicago (USA); Belize (Belize), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Tbilisi (Georgia); Hanoi (Vietnam); Nassau (Bahamas); Jakarta, (Indonesia); Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina).
The fact that Time Out Magazine of the UK has listed Hanoi among the 15 most popular global cities for tourists has further demonstrated the appeal of Hanoi tourism to international visitors. It is also good news for the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2025 with the theme "Experience Hanoi 2025" taking place from May 30 to June 1, 2025 at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center in Hanoi.
This is an annual activity, honoring the value of cultural and historical heritage, promoting destinations, products and unique tourism services of the Capital; attracting domestic and international tourists to Hanoi, a destination of "Safety - Quality - Attractive - Friendly".
