Hanoi: Industrial production grows positively

Notably, the product consumption index in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 2.3%, along with that, the inventory index of the entire processing and manufacturing industry also decreased by 2.9% compared to the end of the previous month and decreased by 6.3% compared to the end of the first quarter of 2024.

Some industries with increased consumption indexes include: Machinery and equipment production increased by 59.1%; metal production increased by 32.5%; garment production increased by 10.3%; leather production increased by 9.8%; motor vehicle production increased by 7%...

Some industries have inventory indexes that decrease compared to the same period in 2024 such as: Production of drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and medicinal materials decreased by 61.6%; processing and manufacturing industry decreased by 48%; garment production decreased by 29.7%; production of beds, cabinets, tables and chairs decreased by 26.1%; production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 23.5%...

Meanwhile, the labor utilization index of industrial enterprises in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 0.4% compared to the first quarter of 2024. By economic sector, the number of workers working in the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 0.5% (of which machinery and equipment production increased by 32.2%; garment production increased by 6.7%; tobacco product production increased by 4.1%; electronic products, computers and optical products production increased by 4.1%)...

Previously, the Hanoi Statistical Office announced that the industrial production index in March was estimated to increase by 6.5% compared to the previous month and by 5.2% compared to the same period in 2024. In the first quarter of 2025, the industrial production index increased by 4.3% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 4.4%; electricity production and distribution increased by 4.8%; water supply and waste and wastewater treatment increased by 2.2%; mining decreased by 5.4%.
