Hanoi will support and promote cooperation with the Venezuelan Embassy in Vietnam.

Thanking Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh for taking the time to meet him, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juárez said that this year Vietnam and Venezuela celebrate the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. Over the past time, the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries have continued to be promoted and strengthened on all three pillars: Party diplomacy, state diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy.

In particular, at the invitation of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, over the past 8 months, Venezuela has welcomed high-ranking Vietnamese delegations, including Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac in November 2023; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang in April 2024.

According to the Venezuelan Ambassador, 2024 is an important year, a milestone in the relationship between the two countries, an opportunity to look back on the Vietnam - Venezuela relationship from the past to the present, and create a foundation for this good relationship to take new steps of development, contributing positively to the development of each country.

Regarding cooperation with Hanoi, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juárez informed that the two sides are promoting procedures to establish a sister city relationship between the two capitals of Hanoi and Caracas. This symbolic move will contribute to promoting the Vietnam-Venezuela and Hanoi-Caracas relations to new heights.

The Ambassador also proposed to place a bust of national liberation hero Simon Bolivar in Hanoi. Referring to activities to promote cultural exchange, the Venezuelan Ambassador expressed his desire to restore the space for Venezuelan ceramic paintings at a suitable location in Hanoi, after the ceramic road in the Au Co area was removed due to traffic development conditions.

In addition, according to the Venezuelan Ambassador, in 2024, the two countries can coordinate to organize a number of events such as: "Vietnam Day in Venezuela", "Venezuelan Cultural Week in Vietnam", "Rice Festival in Venezuela" ... to help people of the two countries increase mutual understanding.

Agreeing with the opinions of Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juárez, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the Party, State and People of Vietnam always attach importance to the good traditional diplomatic relations between the Party, State and people of Venezuela. In the context of many complicated developments in the world, Vietnam remains loyal and affectionate to Venezuela.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee stated that Hanoi always supports and assists the activities of the Venezuelan Embassy in the area, especially events on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Regarding the twinning relationship between Hanoi and Caracas, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that Hanoi will coordinate with relevant agencies to promote this content. In addition, he requested the Venezuelan Embassy in Hanoi to actively support exchanges with the Caracas government, aiming to sign it at an appropriate time, contributing to strengthening the good bilateral relations between the two countries.

Regarding the proposal to place a statue of national liberator Simon Bolivar in Hanoi, the Chairman of the City People's Committee appreciated the significance of the project and acknowledged the Embassy's proposal. The City People's Committee will assign relevant departments, branches and localities to study and work directly with the Embassy to discuss this content.

Regarding the project to restore the space for Venezuelan ceramic paintings at a suitable location in Hanoi, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that this activity is necessary. The Hanoi government will assign the relevant agencies to research and survey the location to suit the overall planning of the Ceramic Road, and at the same time advise on how to handle the Embassy's proposal.

On the basis of the good cooperation between the two countries, the Chairman of the City People's Committee believes that during his term, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juárez will strongly promote cooperation activities between Hanoi and the Venezuelan Embassy to achieve new results in the coming time.
