Hanoi establishes Steering Committee for 2025 High School Graduation Exam

According to the Decision, the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Exam (Steering Committee) of Hanoi city consists of 70 people, with Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee as Head of the Committee; Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Departmentof Education and Training as Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee and 15 Deputy Heads of the Committee, 45 members, 8 secretaries representing departments, branches, districts, towns.

The Steering Committee is responsible for directing and guiding units to properly implement the High School Graduation Exam Regulations and current guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training .

The term of office of the Steering Committee is from the date of signing the decision until the completion of the task.

This year, the first batch of candidates under the 2018 program took the graduation exam, but there are still candidates studying under the old program (2006) who need to retake the exam to be considered for graduation recognition or to get points to register for university.

Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued two exam schedules for these two groups.

Candidates taking the graduation exam for the first time must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, they choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).

The Literature exam is in essay format. The remaining subjects are multiple choice with multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions.

In the graduation score calculation formula, exam scores account for 50%; the rest is the grade 10, 11 and 12 report card scores (50%) and priority points if any. Compared to before, the report card score increased by 20%.

Candidates taking the old program (2006 program) will take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language exams, and one of two Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).

High school graduation exam scores for 2025 will be announced on July 16, 2025.
