(HNMO) – On June 13, the Hanoi Department of Transport said that through data extraction on the processing system and exploitation of data from the journey monitoring device of the Vietnam Road Administration, the Department has just revoked the license plates and badges of 1,055 cars that violated speed limits in March and April 2023.
Notably, in the list of cars whose badges and plates were revoked for speeding violations in March and April 2023, there were many cars that had violated many times.
Of these, there are nearly 60 tractor-trailers, container trucks, and trucks of Truong Hai Auto Cooperative. Typically, tractor-trailer with license plate 37H-040.56 violated the speed limit 1,551 times; tractor-trailer with license plate 37H.040.55 violated the speed limit 1,118 times.
According to the Hanoi Department of Transport, the reason for the recall is that within 1 month, the above vehicles had 5 speed violations/1,000km of vehicle travel (not including speed violations of 5 km/h or less) according to the provisions of Article 22 of Decree 10/2020/ND-CP dated January 17, 2020 of the Government regulating business and business conditions for automobile transportation.
The Hanoi Department of Transport requires transport businesses with vehicles in violation to submit their badges to the Department. The businesses are not allowed to use vehicles on the list of violations to participate in transport business activities during the time the vehicle's badge is revoked. At the same time, they are required to review and rectify the management of the traffic safety monitoring department and the driver team to strictly comply with the regulations.
