Hanoi requests to speed up the progress of returning riverbank embankments, sidewalks, etc. along the To Lich River.

On September 16, the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 14622 notifying the direction of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong on the renovation to ensure the beauty of both sides of the To Lich River.

According to the document, to ensure urban aesthetics and create a green, clean, and beautiful environment on both sides of the To Lich River, Hanoi assigned the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Agriculture (Management Board) to direct contractors and construction units to focus human and material resources to speed up the progress of completing riverbank embankments, sidewalks, railings, etc. along the river to ensure quality and aesthetics.

At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Construction to research and find a complete solution for the discharge gates and discharge nozzles on both sides of the river (from Hoang Quoc Viet Street to Nga Tu So and the water pipe from West Lake to supplement To Lich River) to ensure urban aesthetics (place green pots, plant pineapples, bushes to cover the locations of the discharge gates, water pipes...).

The Hanoi People's Committee also assigned the wards of Tay Ho, Ngoc Ha, Cau Giay, Nghia Do, Lang, Giang Vo, Yen Hoa, Thanh Xuan, and Dong Da to focus on directing environmental sanitation work on both sides of the river.

In addition, the above wards are responsible for coordinating with the Management Board and the Department of Construction to review and renovate sidewalks, railings, trees, flower beds, etc. on both sides of the river to ensure urban aesthetics.

Previously, on the morning of September 9, Tuoi Tre Online recorded that at the head of To Lich River (intersection of Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hanoi), the water pipeline from West Lake to the above river had completed installation and officially put into operation.

At the To Lich River water discharge location, according to records, the iron cap has been opened, water from West Lake has started to flow into the river through two pipes with a flow rate of about half the cross-section of each pipe.

The two pipelines above are installed with a diameter of 1.2m each, starting construction at the end of 2024 with the task of bringing water from West Lake to "revive" To Lich River.

Previously on September 5, speaking to the press, the Hanoi Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Agriculture said that before September 10, water would be released from West Lake to To Lich River.

Before September 20, Hanoi will continue to supply treated water from Yen Xa Plant to the above river.
