In the friendly match where the ASEAN All-Stars team won 1-0 against Manchester United on May 28, Nguyen Hai Long was the player who was given 7.5 points (out of 10) by ESPN , the highest in the match, despite only playing the first half.
International media outlets have praised the Hanoi FC star as a constant threat to Manchester United’s defense. Some social media commentators have even nominated the Vietnamese player to be on the recruitment list of the team ranked 15/20 EPL in the 2024/25 season.
Currently, Hai Long and the Vietnamese team have arrived in Malaysia to prepare for the match between the two teams on June 10, within the framework of Group F of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Before the training session with the team on the evening of June 6, the midfielder born in 2000 said he only considered the match with MU as a beautiful memory, the immediate goal is to help the Vietnamese team achieve the best result at Malaysia's home ground.
"I'm very happy that people commented positively on what I showed against MU. But I know where I am, I don't think about something too far away," Hai Long said.
