Hai Phong: Launching the 'Pink Blood Drops' campaign in summer 2024

On May 5, in Tien Lang district, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Hai Phong City held the launching ceremony of the "Red Blood Drops" campaign in the summer of 2024.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Dao Trong Trung, Chairman of the City Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee affirmed: Blood donation is a noble gesture, showing sharing full of humanity, love, has extremely important meaning and is also a precious tradition of our Vietnamese people.

Mr. Trung called on all levels, sectors, cadres and people to actively participate in the voluntary blood donation movement. The amount of blood collected from units along with voluntary blood donation programs in Hai Phong city will contribute to meeting the need for blood for emergency and treatment of patients at medical facilities.

Leaders of Tien Lang district, Hai Phong city presented flowers to blood donors.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, hundreds of cadres, employees and youth of Tien Lang district participated in voluntary blood donation.

Previously, in March 2024, the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation issued Instruction No. 27 on implementing the "Red Blood Drops" Campaign in the summer of 2024 and the 12th Red Journey Program. The implementation of the above campaign and program aims to promote people from all walks of life to participate in voluntary blood donation, providing enough blood to treat patients at medical facilities; mobilizing registration for tissue, organ, body part donation and other humanitarian activities. The campaign strives to mobilize and receive 480,000 units of blood nationwide, 10,000 units of blood in Hai Phong City.
