Vietnam Customs affirms its active role in multilateral cooperation programs

From July 28 to August 1, a delegation of Vietnam Customs attended the Second Meeting of the Subcommittee on Customs Affairs (SCCP) in 2025 within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum and related meetings, held in Incheon, Korea.

This meeting focused on promoting the development of the SCCP Strategic Plan for the 2026-2029 period and discussing cooperation in implementing strategic priority contents, including: Supply chain management applying artificial intelligence and customs digitalization, facilitating micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to access and integrate into the global supply chain, as well as promoting the commitment to fully implement the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (WTO TFA).

In particular, the participation of Vietnam Customs in the co-sponsored project with Peru Customs - the host economy of APEC 2024 on "Technological solutions for implementing Green Customs in the Asia- Pacific region" has received positive recognition and high appreciation for the effectiveness of cooperation, the practicality of the proposal as well as the commitment of Vietnam Customs in promoting sustainable development and environmental protection in customs operations.

Through this project, Vietnam Customs not only demonstrates an active role in multilateral cooperation programs, but also affirms the orientation of developing a modern, green and digital customs, in line with global trends.

To gradually prepare for its role as the host economy of APEC in 2027, Vietnam Customs continues to promote its proactive and positive role in building initiatives, contributing content to discussion sessions, as well as sharing experiences in areas such as customs procedure reform, digital transformation and effective customs control.

These efforts not only demonstrate Vietnam's strong commitment to APEC's cooperation goals but also contribute to enhancing the position of Vietnam Customs in the region, towards a modern, transparent and effective customs system.
