I visited Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan's home on Truong Vinh Ky Street, Rach Soi Ward, Rach Gia City ( Kien Giang Province) in early July 2023. Ms. Ngan's family was overjoyed because this year her daughter, Tran Bao Vy, and son, Tran Bao Khang, were both accepted into their desired schools.
Tran Bao Vy is the eldest daughter of Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan. Having achieved her goal of being admitted to Huynh Man Dat Specialized High School in Rach Gia City, Vy is delighted. During the summer break, Vy helps her mother with household chores, participates in summer activities organized by the ward's Youth Union, reviews her math, literature, and English subjects, and prepares herself for the new school year.
Tran Bao Khang, the son of Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan, has been accepted into Le Quy Don Junior High School in Rach Gia City. Bao Khang shared: “I’m worried and nervous about entering a new learning environment. I’ll try my best to maintain good academic performance and prepare well for the entrance exam to Huynh Man Dat Specialized High School.”
Nguyen The Hai dreams of attending Le Quy Don Junior High School. Sharing his efforts in studying and preparing for the entrance exam, The Hai said he started preparing in the fourth grade. He diligently studied in class, self-studied at home, and reviewed under the guidance of his teachers to achieve good results. The Hai said: “I am happy and grateful to be a student of Le Quy Don Junior High School. I strive to study well and achieve many high accomplishments.”
Attending Le Quy Don Junior High School is Ly Tran Ba Long's dream. To get accepted, Long studied diligently. Currently, he has prepared all his books, school supplies, and uniform, ready for the new school year. "In junior high school, I will try my best to study, improve my math and English skills, and strive to participate in the gifted student competition," Ba Long confided.
Ms. Mac Dieu Quynh and her younger brother Nguyen The Hai are buying school supplies in preparation for the 2023-2024 school year.
From a young age, Pham Hoang Anh Khoi heard his parents talk about Huynh Man Dat Specialized High School, encouraging him to study hard to pass the entrance exam. Cherishing the dream of attending this school, Anh Khoi worked hard, especially in 9th grade. “Getting into the specialized math class made me happy because my efforts paid off. Now I'm resting, spending time with family and friends; I occasionally review my books. I'm keeping a relaxed mindset to study well,” Anh Khoi shared.
Dinh Minh Hieu will never forget the joy of being accepted into the 10th grade history-geography class at Huynh Man Dat Specialized High School. On the day of enrollment, Hieu was happy, proud, and honored to officially become a student at the specialized school. Hieu said: “To prepare for the new school year, in July, I started reviewing 9th grade material and previewing 10th grade subjects.”
At this time, Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan is completing the enrollment procedures and preparing notebooks, textbooks, and uniforms for her children to go to school for the new school year. According to Ms. Kim Ngan, to ensure her children do well in school, she has always monitored their studies over the years, created the best conditions, and encouraged them when they face difficulties. Regarding school selection, Ms. Ngan only provides guidance, not imposing her will on her children. "Both children are entering a new grade level, and the curriculum has changed a lot, so I think they are somewhat unfamiliar with it. Therefore, I always closely monitor their studies, and in addition, I share and support them so that they can study well," Ms. Kim Ngan said.
Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan and her two children, Tran Bao Vy and Tran Bao Khang, residing in Rach Soi ward, Rach Gia city (Kien Giang province), are preparing books and school supplies for the 2023-2024 school year.
Meanwhile, Ms. Mac Dieu Quynh, mother of Nguyen The Hai, shared that to prepare her son for his new school, she meticulously arranged the uniform, textbooks, and school bag according to the school's regulations. "The Hai spent time reviewing the subjects for 6th grade beforehand. Besides that, he took advantage of the time to study foreign languages, read books, and practice sports to develop his physical fitness," Ms. Mac Dieu Quynh said.
As her son entered a new school level, Ms. Tran Tu Anh, mother of Ly Tran Ba Long, worried because, according to her, junior high school is very different from elementary school, from the curriculum to the organization and assignment of teachers. "I care about my son's studies; I monitor the class activities through the homeroom teacher, and I cooperate well with the teacher in teaching my son so that he progresses and maintains good academic performance," Ms. Tu Anh shared.
For students, passing the entrance exam and getting into their desired school is a source of happiness and pride, and a foundation for achieving new goals in the future. Throughout this journey, parents are always there to care for and support their children, providing them with the best possible conditions to strive for success.
