Favorable agricultural production
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son said that in the first 6 months of 2025, under the focused leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the supervision of the Provincial People's Council, the focused direction and management, and the determination and efforts of authorities at all levels, the business community and the people of the province, the province's socio -economy continued to develop and achieved some remarkable results in all fields.
The total area of sowing and harvesting is estimated at 12,447 hectares, 2.19 times higher than the same period, reaching 62.24% of the plan. The output reached 63,302 tons, 2.54 times higher than the same period, reaching 67.34% of the plan.
The total coconut area is about 79,775 hectares, up 0.87% over the same period, reaching 98.74% of the plan. The harvested output is about 370 million fruits, up 0.46% over the same period, reaching 52.04% of the plan. The price of raw dry coconut is high, ranging from 210 - 220 thousand VND/12 fruits. As of April 25, 2025, the area infected with coconut beetles is 2,929.5 hectares (of which, lightly infected 2,450.9 hectares, moderately infected 478.6 hectares), down 367 hectares over the same period; the area infected with black-headed caterpillar is 172.24 hectares, down 216.17 hectares over the same period, the cumulative recovery area from the beginning of 2025 to present is 362.5 hectares.
The area of fruit trees was 23,065 hectares, down 4.5% over the same period, reaching 100.28% of the plan. The output was 142,547 tons, down 2.54% over the same period, reaching 50.37% of the plan. Diseases and pests on fruit trees were insignificant and tended to decrease.
The area of various vegetables is 2,162 hectares, up 4.19% over the same period, reaching 52.1% of the plan. The output is about 53,485 tons, up 3.88% over the same period, reaching 57.39% of the plan.
The total herd of cattle is currently 200,650, down 7.09% over the same period, reaching 89.18% of the plan. The total herd of poultry is 6.52 million, down 4.38% over the same period, reaching 100.31% of the plan. The total herd of pigs is about 460,360, up 2.25% over the same period, reaching 115.09% of the plan.
Total aquaculture area is 42,897ha, up 8.94% over the same period, reaching 90.83% of the plan. Total harvested output is 145,500 tons, up 6.98% over the same period, reaching 43.18% of the plan. Intensive and semi-intensive shrimp farming area is 11,207ha, up 18.72% over the same period and reaching 84.2% of the plan. Newly developed high-tech shrimp farming is 500ha, reaching 100% of the plan (plan 500ha).
Intensive pangasius farming with an estimated stocking area of 420ha. Harvested output is about 47,386 tons, down 25.5% over the same period. Raw pangasius prices range from 30 - 32.5 thousand VND/kg. Giant freshwater prawn farming is reaching 1,300ha, up 6.7% over the same period, reaching 76.47% of the plan; harvested output is 612 tons.
Aquatic product output was about 113,640 tons, down 3.03% over the same period, reaching 49.81% of the plan. The total number of registered vessels was 3,649; of which, there were 2,020 offshore fishing vessels. The activities of production and business establishments at fishing ports were stable. The total number of vessels loading and unloading aquatic products was 886 turns/11,648 tons.
It is estimated that in the first 6 months of 2025, 11 new cooperatives were established, with a total of 216 cooperatives in the province, with 51,260 members and a total charter capital of VND 310.34 billion; 15 new cooperative groups were established, with a total of 1,215 cooperative groups with 21,777 members; 20 cooperatives were received and supported, with a total budget of VND 1 billion according to Resolution 25/2021/NQ-HDND.
The province has 94 cooperatives, 85 cooperatives, and 4 linkage groups participating in the value chain of key agricultural products. Currently, the province has 27,805.7 hectares of production according to organic standards, GAP and equivalent. In the first 6 months of 2025, 5 new vegetable growing area codes were issued, with an area of 59 hectares; 3 rice growing area codes, with an area of 115.23 hectares. In total, there are 32 domestic growing area codes, with a total area of 814.75 hectares; 10 growing areas are assigned 47 codes, with an area of 153.12 hectares. Accumulated to the end of April 15, 2025, the province has 206 export growing areas with 354 codes, with an area of 9,613.07 hectares. 16 packaging facilities export to the markets of the United States, New Zealand, Europe, China, Thailand, etc.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the relevant sector selected and recognized 1 parent tree and 8 parent orchards of various fruit trees.
Industrial production - small industry on the way to recovery
In the first 6 months of 2025, industrial and handicraft production activities continued to recover; enterprises and establishments focused on increasing production to achieve growth and development targets. The estimated value of industrial and handicraft production reached VND 19,930 billion, up 12.54% over the same period, reaching 44.69% of the plan. Up to now, 7 industrial clusters (ICs) have been established, with a total area of 267.94 hectares; 6 ICs have been planned in detail, with a total area of 249.4 hectares; of which, the industrial land area is 177.89 hectares, 65.6 hectares have been leased, the occupancy rate is about 36.88% of the industrial land area. 3 ICs have been invested and put into operation. The industrial parks have 22 registered investment projects, with total registered investment capital of about 5,020.52 billion VND, creating jobs for about 9,453 workers.
In the first 6 months of 2025, 413 enterprises and 246 dependent units (DVPT) were newly established, with registered capital of VND 2,462.69 billion, an increase of 54.68% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 133.02% in registered capital over the same period, reaching 75.09% in the number of enterprises and 53.54% in registered capital compared to the plan (550 enterprises and VND 4,600 billion); 742 enterprises and 343 DVPT registered for changes, an increase of 116.33% over the same period; 266 enterprises and 86 DVPT temporarily suspended operations, equal to 23.15% over the same period; 59 enterprises and 108 DVPT dissolved, a decrease of 9.23% over the same period.
Total retail sales of consumer goods and services are estimated at VND36,410 billion, up 10.07% over the same period, reaching 45.8% of the plan. Export turnover is estimated at USD966.2 million, up 21.23%, reaching 50.06% of the plan. Export prices of processed coconut products increased significantly compared to the same period last year. However, it is forecasted that in the last 6 months of 2025, processing enterprises using raw materials from the province will face many difficulties due to high raw material purchase prices and scarcity of raw materials. In addition, the US is expected to impose a 46% tax on goods imported into the US from Vietnam. Therefore, export activities of enterprises will face many difficulties.
Currently, provincial enterprises import raw materials such as dried coconuts from Indonesia for processing, to compensate for the shortage of domestic raw materials, but in general, it is not enough to meet the needs of provincial enterprises. Import turnover is estimated at 262.6 million USD, up 21.01% over the same period, reaching 47.75% of the plan.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the number of visitors and tourism revenue increased quite high compared to the same period. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 2,037 billion, up 27.79% over the same period, reaching 53.61% of the plan. Total number of visitors is estimated at 1,525,620, up 18.67% over the same period, reaching 54.10% of the plan (of which, international visitors are estimated at 542,080, up 120.38% over the same period, reaching 48.4% of the plan).
Banking credit activities continue to develop safely and healthily, fully and promptly meeting the capital needs of people and businesses at reasonable costs. It is estimated that by the end of June 2025, mobilized capital will reach VND 65,500 billion, up 5% compared to the beginning of 2025. Total loans in the first 6 months of 2025 will reach VND 53,500 billion, up 8.3% over the same period; outstanding loans will reach VND 70,400 billion, up 4.5% compared to the beginning of the year; bad debts are safely controlled, accounting for about 2% of total outstanding loans.
The estimated state budget revenue in the first 6 months of 2025 is VND 3,987.4 billion, reaching 62.50% of the central budget estimate, reaching 62.42% of the local budget estimate, up 10.67% over the same period; of which, domestic revenue is VND 3,810 billion, reaching 60.48% of the central and local budget estimate, up 7.05% over the same period; revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND 40.9 billion, reaching 51.13% of the central and local budget estimate, up 5.97% over the same period. There are 15/19 revenue items and tax collections that have reached and exceeded the estimated progress.
Estimated total local budget expenditure in the first 6 months of 2025 is VND 7,415.99 billion, reaching 43.27% of the central budget estimate, 42.13% of the local budget estimate, up 53.57% over the same period; of which, investment expenditure reached 33.66% of the capital plan, regular expenditure reached 50% of the estimate.
