Quang Nam launches Action Month for Children 2025

Attending the launching ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan - Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Provincial Action Program for Children, leaders of departments, branches, localities and 170 children representing children in the whole province.

In recent years, Quang Nam has made efforts to implement many important policies of the Party and State on children. It has focused resources on promoting children's basic rights such as health care, education, play and protection from abuse.

Currently, the whole province has 147/233 communes, wards and towns meeting the "child-friendly" standard; 100% of child abuse and violence cases are handled promptly; the rate of children getting birth certificates on time is over 95%.

Child health programs are maintained effectively, such as the vaccination rate for children under 1 year old reaching 100%, and there is no longer a situation of HIV transmission from mother to child...

In particular, support for children in special circumstances is always given attention, from medical examination and treatment, learning support to giving gifts and building playgrounds.

However, besides the achieved results, Quang Nam still faces many challenges such as more than 12,000 children in special circumstances, more than 28,000 children at risk of falling into this situation. Accidents, drowning, abuse, and violence still occur; entertainment facilities do not meet the needs; the risk of child abuse through the internet, electronic cigarettes and online games is increasing...

Launching the Children's Action Month 2025, Director of the Department of Health Mai Van Muoi emphasized that today's launching ceremony is a key activity, the beginning of a series of diverse activities, mobilizing the participation and coordination of sectors, levels and the whole society to act together "No child is left behind", striving to complete the goals for children.

To effectively implement the Action Month, Mr. Muoi called on agencies and units to focus on fully implementing plans for children; strengthening communication and communityeducation ; promptly supporting and intervening in cases of vulnerable children; effectively organizing activities for children during the summer and festivals...

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that caring for, educating and protecting children is not only the responsibility of the authorities, but also the duty of each family, school and the whole society. Each child's full physical, intellectual and spiritual development is the foundation for a progressive, humane and happy society.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on all levels, sectors, localities and the whole society to act together for children with specific and practical actions, from health care, education, to protecting children from all risks of abuse and violence. In particular, listen to the voices of children, so that they can grow up in love, safety and comprehensive development.

On this occasion, the provincial leaders awarded 50 scholarships (VND 1 million/scholarship) to 50 poor children who have overcome difficulties to study well. The organization Light Up Children's Hope (CHIA) awarded 100 gifts to children with a total cost of VND 30 million; supported 3 sanitation facilities, 1 set of outdoor playground equipment for children in Duy Xuyen district and Hoi An city with a value of VND 100 million. AIA Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited in Quang Nam, through the Children's Support Fund, supported 10 bicycles worth VND 20 million.
