On the morning of May 31, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, a series of very large rocks fell from a high hill, blocking the coastal road (DT 701) connecting Ca Na commune (Thuan Nam district) with Phan Rang - Thap Cham city ( Ninh Thuan province), causing local traffic congestion.
The landslide occurred from Km 26+250 to Km 29+350, in Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district (Ninh Thuan province).

In addition to large rocks, many places along this route also have landslides and sand spilling onto the road.
According to local residents, the landslide occurred at dawn when there were few vehicles passing by, so fortunately there were no injuries to people or vehicles. However, due to large rocks blocking the road, vehicles could not move.

Upon receiving the information, the Department of Construction of Ninh Thuan province coordinated with relevant units to mobilize many human resources and means to overcome the landslide situation.
After many hours of effort, heavy-duty cranes moved the rocks off the road. By around 1 p.m. the same day, the landslide had been basically resolved.

However, a representative of the Department of Construction said that landslides on the road may continue to occur, and people need to be careful when traveling. To ensure safety, the authorities have placed warning signs, advising people to limit their movement on the landslide-prone road.

DT 701, 50km long, is a famous coastal route in Ninh Thuan, attracting many tourists because of its majestic beauty. However, in recent years, this route has been continuously eroded and unsafe.
