According to this decision, the functional nature of Duy Hai - Duy Nghia urban area is a new type V urban area, a center of trade, services, tourism , resorts...; resettlement area; fisheries logistics providing labor and aquatic and seafood materials for tourist and resort areas; associated with the overall space of Hoi An tourism services, aiming to build a unique urban space of national and regional significance.
By 2030, the forecasted population of Duy Hai - Duy Nghia is about 55,000 people; urban construction land is about 1,389.97 hectares. By 2035, the forecasted population is about 95,000 people; urban construction land is about 1,885.94 hectares.
According to the project, Duy Hai - Duy Nghia urban space is divided into 4 functional areas. Area 1 (central public - commercial - service area) is the central area of the urban area, oriented towards the development of trade, services, culture, sports , etc.
Area 2 (new industrial - urban area in the West) is an area oriented towards residential, industrial and service development.
Area 3 (new urban area in the East) is the area for residential development and commercial services along the river and coast. The remaining area, area 4 is the urban and resort area.
