Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed 107 resolutions at one session.

The 11th session (special session) of the 10th term Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 2021-2026 term, closed on the afternoon of September 19, after a day of urgent work. Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai attended this session.

In her closing speech, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le appreciated that the city People's Council delegates had upheld their sense of responsibility, actively focused their intelligence, and solved a large and important volume of work with high consensus and unanimity.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has considered and unanimously approved 9 resolutions to specify the implementation of Resolution 98/2023 of the National Assembly on specific mechanisms and policies for the city's development; 8 resolutions to create a legal basis to solve social security issues, promote economic - cultural - health - educational development, ensure national defense - security...

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council reviewed and approved 87 resolutions on urgent works and key projects of groups A and B, contributing to accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital; 3 resolutions on adjusting and supplementing medium-term public investment for the 2021-2025 period, public investment capital sources in 2023 and the expected public investment plan for 2024.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council requested the City People's Committee and all levels and sectors to continue to focus on comprehensively, drastically and flexibly implementing the tasks and solutions set out in resolutions, plans and annual work programs; review low and difficult-to-achieve expenditures to find appropriate and effective solutions.

At the same time, urgently allocate capital sources according to regulations on state budget allocation, speed up the implementation of works and projects to ensure requirements, regulations, and disbursement of public investment capital.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai presented certificates of merit to collectives with outstanding achievements in implementing the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Council in Ho Chi Minh City, period 2021-2023, at the meeting.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also said that right after this session, the City People's Council will fully summarize the delegates' recommendations on the shortcomings from the practical activities of the People's Council in the supervision work, especially in the conditions of Ho Chi Minh City implementing urban government.

This is the basis for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to propose and recommend amendments and supplements to laws and legal documents related to the People's Council's supervisory activities.

At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will continue to focus on leadership solutions to implement the Project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of the City People's Council's supervisory activities in the context of implementing urban government, term 2021-2026"; closely coordinating the supervision of the People's Council with the inspection and supervision of the Party, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations and the supervision of the people.

Activities of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council closely follow practical requirements

Within the framework of the session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council summarized the implementation of the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, and conducted a mid-term review of the activities of the 10th People's Council, term 2021-2026.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Van Dung said that from the beginning to the middle of the term, the City People's Council issued 268 resolutions, promptly institutionalizing Party resolutions, State laws, practical requirements and receiving high consensus from delegates.

In deciding on important issues of Ho Chi Minh City, the City People's Council has closely followed the requirements and development tasks, approached the practical issues that are arising, spent time surveying and grasping the situation, listening to the opinions of voters, experts, scientists or people directly affected by the City People's Council Resolution.

However, the activities of meeting voters and citizens are sometimes not very effective; the resolution of some opinions and recommendations of voters is still slow. The supervision of the implementation of some resolutions of the City People's Council by all levels and sectors is sometimes not regular.
