Just one day after the Thai team was eliminated from the 2023 Asian Cup, the head of the Thai team Nualphan Lamsam (often affectionately known as Madam Pang) announced his departure from the team.

For example, before the semi-final match of the AFF Cup 2020, which took place at the end of 2021 in Singapore, Madam Pang gave many expensive Rolex watches, iPhones, and new iPad tablets to Thai players.
Madam Pang's action was explained by her as being aimed at encouraging the Thai players' spirit before they faced the Vietnamese team, the strongest team in Southeast Asia at that time.

The amount of nearly 39 billion VND mentioned above does not include the salary that Madam Pang supported the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) in paying the salaries of two coaches, Mano Polking (German-Brazilian) and Masatada Ishii (Japanese).
Previously, Thai media reported that the salaries of coaches Mano Polking and Masatada Ishii consisted of two parts, one part paid by FAT, the other part supported by Madam Pang. These two salaries were divided at a 50-50 rate, meaning FAT paid 50% and Madam Pang supported the remaining 50%.
The salary of the previous coaches Mano Polking and current coach Masatada Ishii is about 1 million baht/month (about 700 million VND/month). Madam Pang will support 50% of this salary each month, meaning Madam Pang supports about 350 million VND each month.
Adding up all the expenses, the amount of money that billionaire Madam Pang spent on Thai teams in the past 2.5 years is quite large. Madam Pang decided to withdraw from the position of team leader to focus on running for the position of FAT President.
The election for the new FAT President will take place on February 8. The current President Somyot Poompunmuang announced that he will not run for re-election, Madam Pang is currently the most promising candidate to succeed Mr. Somyot.
