Revealing the time when President Putin can meet Mr. Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin could meet his US counterpart Donald Trump as early as next week.

According to RT, US media quoted two close sources on August 6 saying that US President Donald Trump plans to hold a private meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as early as next week.

President Trump is said to have revealed his plans in a phone call with Western European leaders.

The news came just hours after President Trump hailed a "very productive" meeting between President Putin and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

According to the US President, in the nearly 3-hour meeting between Mr. Putin and Mr. Witkoff, the two sides achieved "tremendous progress" and agreed to work to end the conflict in Ukraine "in the coming days and weeks."

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said he had updated some of America's European allies on the results of the meeting between President Putin and Special Envoy Witkoff in Moscow. According to US media, the White House boss also announced the plan (to meet President Putin) in a phone call with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte,...

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also said to have been on the call.

The newspaper added that President Trump also announced plans to hold three-way talks with both Mr Putin and Mr Zelensky immediately after his private meeting with the Russian president.

“No Western European leaders are expected to attend the planned meetings. Those on the call agreed with Mr Trump’s plan,” the source said.

Commenting on this information, the White House confirmed that President Trump is ready to meet both Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky.

"The Russian side has expressed a desire to meet with the US President," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

President Zelensky confirmed that he had a "conversation with President Trump" and that the White House boss wants to see the conflict between Kiev and Moscow end.
