According to the report from the My Thuan Project Management Board at the meeting, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project is currently progressing ahead of schedule, with the total output reaching 99.55% of the contract value.

Construction of resettlement areas has also progressed positively: In Dong Thap (formerly Tien Giang ), the locality has started construction on one resettlement area; in Vinh Long (formerly Ben Tre), one resettlement area has been completed and construction on another is underway. Regarding disbursement, the cumulative amount from the beginning of the project to date has reached VND 5,699/VND 5,730 billion (99.46%), of which the disbursement for 2025 is VND 633.69/VND 673.81 billion (94.06%), meeting the set plan.

Regarding the construction volume, the main items, including the basic road sections, have been completed, and the installation of traffic safety signs is currently being finalized. All six bridges on the route have been completed.

According to Can Manh Hung, the project's chief contractor and CEO of package XL02, belonging to Trung Nam E&C Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company, the main package of the project has completed 100% of the work. All construction work has been completed, and currently only cleanup and preparation for the inauguration ceremony remain.

During the inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that when economies are interconnected, transportation plays a crucial role as the backbone. When the transportation system connects different regions, the high-quality transportation of goods will boost the economic development of each side, while simultaneously strengthening economic exchange and cooperation between localities within the region.

Regarding the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha stated: "The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge not only solves the traffic problem for the two localities, but also addresses a broader issue: boosting the economy of the entire region. This clearly demonstrates the importance of the project. Having a bridge or connecting roads means that our economy and people will benefit from the advantages that transportation connectivity brings. Transportation truly plays a pivotal role in economic development."

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has a total length of 17.6 km, of which 7.95 km runs through Dong Thap province and 9.65 km through Vinh Long province. The Rach Mieu 2 bridge section is 1.97 km long, with the main cable-stayed bridge section being 0.51 km long and having 4 lanes. The total investment for the project is VND 6,810.11 billion from the state budget.

"In terms of design and construction, the project has reached a certain level. We not only grasp the technology but are also very good at innovation and making creative breakthroughs. The current bridge projects all apply modern technology, ensuring high quality. The operation, maintenance, and supervision of these projects need special attention and specific regulations," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Regarding post-completion management, the Deputy Prime Minister stated: "After the bridge projects are completed, they will be handed over to local authorities for management. We need a clear process for receiving and operating these projects, and we also need a professional unit in charge of management and operation to ensure long-term effective use."

Regarding the progress of implementation, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated that the bridge projects are being implemented faster than initially planned and are achieving high progress. Therefore, appropriate reward policies should be in place for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of these projects.

According to the plan, the project acceptance inspection council will hold a meeting on August 12, 2025. The project is expected to be handed over to Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces on August 19, 2025, for inauguration and operation, five months earlier than directed by the Prime Minister.
