The agreement on land border management regulations between Vietnam and China has been effectively implemented.

From November 4-5, in Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai province, the 12th meeting of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee (UBLH) took place.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Comrade Trinh Duc Hai, Chairman of the National Border Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnamese Subcommittee in the Border Committee. The Chinese delegation was led by Comrade Trieu Lap Kien, Deputy Director of the Border and Maritime Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Chairman of the Chinese Subcommittee in the Border Committee.

Also attending the meeting were representatives of ministries, branches and localities who are members of the two sides' Sub-committees in the UBLH. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship, sincerity, frankness and mutual understanding.

At the meeting, the two sides summarized the activities of the Border Management Board since the 11th Meeting of the Border Management Board (November 2024) up to now, and agreed that the Agreement on the Vietnam-China Land Border Management Regulations has been effectively implemented; the Border Management Board mechanism has operated smoothly, achieving many positive results thanks to the close and harmonious coordination of both sides.

The two sides highly appreciated the effective and substantive coordination in directing the functional forces of the two countries to cooperate effectively in the field of border management and protection; approved many border projects; actively promoted the opening/upgrading of border gates and openings; promoted cross-border traffic connections, thereby contributing to enhancing friendly exchanges and cooperation in socio -economic development in the border areas between the two countries in particular as well as actively contributing to the development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in general.

The two sides also had in-depth exchanges in the spirit of friendship and cooperation on key cooperation contents in many areas of interest to both sides.

At the same time, they agreed on key tasks that need to be implemented in the coming time to meet the requirements of border management and protection and promote development cooperation in the new situation.

The 12th meeting of the UBLH ended successfully with the two sides signing the Minutes and agreeing to hold the 13th meeting of the UBLH in China in 2026.
