What did the coach of the Vietnamese women's futsal team say after the dramatic victory over Hong Kong?

On the afternoon of May 7, the Vietnamese women's futsal team faced Hong Kong in the opening match of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship (held in China). In the first half, Vietnam led 2-0 and then 3-1. But just at the beginning of the second half, Hong Kong equalized 3-3. At the end of the match, the Vietnamese girls tried to score 2 more goals to win 5-3.

Speaking after the match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang expressed his satisfaction with the team's efforts: "Today's match was really difficult for the Vietnamese women's futsal team. As you know, the first match is always a challenge. The coaching staff and I are satisfied with the efforts of the players. The team's efforts have been duly rewarded. Although there are still many points to improve, we thank the players for their best efforts."

Sharing about the moment when Hong Kong equalized 3-3 in the beginning of the second half, the head coach of the Vietnamese women's futsal team said: "Actually, the Vietnamese women's futsal team did not have the best rhythm in the early stages of each half. After being equalized, we reminded the players to stay focused and improve their tactics to resolve the situation on the field."

Despite winning all 3 points in the opening match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang still believes that the team needs to improve more in the following matches. "After this match, the coaching staff will review the video to analyze and make adjustments. It can be seen that we did not start the match well, and concentration at key moments is still a problem that needs to be overcome. Although we have won the opening match, the Vietnamese women's futsal team still has a lot of work to do to aim for a higher goal in this tournament."

After the first round of matches, the Vietnamese women's futsal team leads the group with 3 points and a goal difference of +2, while Iran ranks second with 3 points and a goal difference of +1. Previously, the Iranian women's futsal team beat the Philippines 1-0.

In the second match, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will face the Philippines at 10:00 a.m. on May 9 (Vietnam time).
