Coach Kim Sang-sik shuffles U.23 Vietnam squad to play Singapore: Le Viktor starts

On the evening of September 6, the Vietnam U.23 team launched a relatively unfamiliar lineup to face Singapore in the second match of the 2026 AFC U.23 Championship qualifiers.

In the goal, goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien is still trusted. The trio of central defenders continues to be Dang Tuan Phong - Nguyen Hieu Minh - Nguyen Nhat Minh. The two full-backs are Pham Minh Phuc and Khuat Van Khang. The central midfielders are Nguyen Van Truong and Nguyen Thai Son. The "trident" on the attack line is Le Viktor, Nguyen Dinh Bac and Nguyen Cong Phuong.

This is a relatively strange arrangement because this attacking trio has never started together before. When using Cong Phuong, the U.23 Vietnam team usually only plays 2 strikers. Another new thing is that Nguyen Van Truong continues to wear the captain's armband, even though Khuat Van Khang returns.

This is not the strongest lineup of the U.23 Vietnam team when the pillars are resting. However, the replacement players are also rich in experience.
