According to coach Maresca, the key to victory did not lie in the final moments of the match or Palmer's goals in the 22nd and 30th minutes, but was decided in the opening minutes.
He shared:
"For me, we won in the first 10 minutes."
He stressed that his team quickly "set the tempo" and implemented an extremely effective high-pressing style, causing PSG difficulties from the very first moments of the game. Although the conditions were harsh and maintaining a high intensity was a challenge, his players showed extraordinary effort to dominate the early game.
Maresca also did not hesitate to mention the conflicting opinions surrounding his failure to find the optimal position for Cole Palmer throughout last season. However, Palmer's brilliant performance in the final proved the effectiveness of the system that Maresca built.

"Today we found a position for him where there was more space to attack," Maresca explained of the tactical adjustment that helped Palmer maximize his ability, but he also did not forget to praise the efforts of the whole team.
"Obviously Cole played really well but the effort from all the players was incredible," said the Chelsea manager.
At the end of the press conference, coach Maresca could not hide his excitement and relief: "Of course, I am very excited about the future but I am even more excited that we have three weeks of rest."
The victory at the FIFA Club World Cup is not only a testament to Maresca's sharp coaching talent, but also a solid stepping stone for a promising Chelsea in the future.
