"It's not easy, my emotions are destroyed at the moment. Today I feel like I've aged 10 years. It was a very difficult match," coach Pep Guardiola shared at a press conference after the win over Bayern Munich at Etihad Stadium.

"I knew exactly what we had to do in this game. If you don't perform really well, they can pick the ball out of our net once, twice or three times. I know that. The players know that. So to win 3-0 against them is incredible, but it's a result of determination.

We went out there to score. But to score three goals was unbelievable. I felt like we had a chance at our home ground, the Etihad, we've clearly created something special here this season.

It was a tight game for 60 minutes. In part, Bayern were better than us. Not many teams that create so few chances can win against Bayern like today.

Bayern are a very good team, I have faced them many times. In Europe, they are very special. Not just one match, you need to play really well in both matches to be able to eliminate them," coach Pep Guardiola added.

Striker Erling Haaland became the first Premier League star to score 45 goals in a season when he scored the winner for Man City in the 76th minute of the match. Just six minutes earlier, the Norwegian striker had provided a clever assist for Bernardo Silva to make it 2-0.

"Bernardo is one of the best players I have ever coached in my life," added Pep Guardiola.

"Erling, in particular, was always a threat. He didn't leave much of an impression in the first half, centre-back Matthijs De Ligt always beat him for long passes. When we started playing better, Haaland shone. He's not just a goalscorer, he helps us a lot in the way we play," the Spanish strategist affirmed.

A 3-0 win in the first leg gives Man City a big advantage when they visit Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena in the second leg of the quarter-finals next week. If they overcome the "Gray Tigers", coach Pep Guardiola's team will meet the winner of the match between Real Madrid and Chelsea.
