Hoa Binh: Prosecution of Head of Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lac Son district

The Hoa Binh Provincial Police have just prosecuted 7 former officials and leaders of Lac Son District (Hoa Binh Province) for "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" and "Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties". These people are accused of causing a loss of 1.8 billion VND.

On the evening of August 26, the Investigation Police Agency of Hoa Binh Province Police informed that the unit has issued a decision to supplement the decision to prosecute the case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" and "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" related to the implementation of the compensation and site clearance component of Canh Tang Reservoir in Lac Son District, Hoa Binh Province.

Up to now, the local police investigation agency has prosecuted and issued arrest warrants for the following suspects: Bui Van Viet (Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lac Son district); Bui Van Tho (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of My Thanh commune, Lac Son district); Bui Van Nam (land registry officer of Van Nghia commune, Lac Son district) for the crime of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences". In particular, suspect Bui Van Tho was subject to the measure of being prohibited from leaving his place of residence.

In addition to the above defendants, the police agency also prosecuted and issued an arrest warrant for: Bui Van Dun (Party cell secretary of Sao hamlet, Van Nghia commune, Lac Son district); Bui Van Sum (Deputy Secretary, Head of Sao hamlet, Van Nghia commune, Lac Son district) for the act of "Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties". The decision to prosecute supplements the decision to prosecute the defendants: Bui Van Dung (Deputy Head of Sao hamlet, Van Nghia commune, Lac Son district) and Bui Van Ky (contract labor officer of the Land Fund Development Center of Lac Son district, who are accomplices of Bui Van Dun and Bui Van Sum).

The defendants Bui Van Ky and Bui Van Dung are being detained at the Hoa Binh Provincial Police Detention Center for the crime of "Abusing position and power to appropriate property" and have been previously prosecuted.
