The region's "concert destination"

In August and September 2025 alone, nearly 10 major art events and concerts, attracting tens of thousands of spectators each program, have made Hanoi the cultural center of the country. Rarely has the capital been so vibrant, creating a vivid picture of cultural resilience.

The opening highlight was the political and artistic program “Fatherland in the Heart” organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Hanoi People’s Committee on the evening of August 10 at My Dinh National Stadium, attracting more than 50,000 spectators to sing songs of pride.

Vietnam Television also created a new performing arts brand with the program “V Concert - Radiant Vietnam” on the evening of August 9, “V Fest - Radiant Youth” on the evening of September 10 and the highlight is “V Fest - Vietnam Today” on September 20 at the National Exhibition Center, gathering many top singers with 25,000 audiences each night, creating a music festival that exploded in both scale and media effect.

In addition, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission organized two large-scale programs: “Proud to be Vietnamese” on August 17 at My Dinh National Stadium with more than 30,000 audiences singing songs praising the Fatherland and “Rock concert - Heart of Vietnam” on September 7 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, where rock music conveys the revolutionary spirit to young people.
Two programs hosted by Hanoi City also left their own mark. Among them, “Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945” on August 15 at August Revolution Square and “Hanoi - Forever the aspiration of Vietnam” on August 31 at the National Exhibition Center satisfied the audience with the art of combining light, 3D mapping, paragliding and brilliant fireworks.

Not only that, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized art programs in Hanoi such as the concert “Vietnam in Me” on August 26 at the National Exhibition Center and the special program “80 Years of Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” on the evening of September 1 at My Dinh National Stadium, bringing emotional and proud art experiences.

Not only free art nights, many ticketed concerts also "exploded" with a large audience. For example, the event "8 Wonder: Moments of Wonder" took place on August 23 at the National Exhibition Center organized by Vingroup, gathering 50,000 audiences and international stars, contributing to bringing Hanoi in line with global entertainment standards.

Previously, the "Anh trai say hi" concerts at My Dinh National Stadium also created a "fever" for tickets among young people, or the two concert nights of the group BlackPink (Korea) in July 2023 sold more than 67,000 tickets, bringing in revenue of nearly 13.7 million USD - a historical record in the Vietnamese performance industry, affirming that Hanoi is capable of becoming a "concert destination" in the region.

Realizing the goal of developing cultural industry

At the music festival “V Fest - Vietnam Today” on September 20, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended, holding his signature lightstick and immersing himself in the vibrant atmosphere with more than 20,000 spectators.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: “Today, to concretize the correct creative cultural policy of the Party and State, the Government is building a target program on cultural development, building cultural industries, entertainment industries... so that people can enjoy a civilized and modern culture. At the same time, we contribute to internationalization, bringing a culture imbued with national identity to the world and nationalizing human civilization, so that artists can live and devote themselves to art, for the enjoyment of the people, for the benefit of the nation and the people.”

That message not only encourages the spirit, but also demonstrates the strategic vision of the Party and State in turning the cultural and entertainment industry into one of the pillars of the country's development in the new period.

Hanoi is the political and cultural center of the country, with a lot of potential and advantages to take the lead and become the center of performing arts and entertainment not only of the country, but also of the region.

Speaking at the art program “Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945”, which gathered nearly 30,000 spectators, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed: “Hanoi today is not only the political center, the heart of the whole country, but also a major center of economy, culture, education, science, technology and international integration. This is a testament to the strong will and aspiration to rise of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital”.

In fact, Hanoi has prepared a solid foundation for the breakthrough of the cultural and entertainment industries. Along with the Capital Law, the City has issued many policies and mechanisms to develop culture, including Program 06-Ctr/TU on cultural development, improving the quality of human resources; building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the period of 2021 - 2025 and Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU on developing cultural industries in the capital for the period of 2021 - 2025, oriented to 2030, vision to 2045.

Therefore, cultural and artistic activities in the capital are increasingly diverse, many major events are successfully organized, especially large-scale art programs attracting tens of thousands of spectators - something that was extremely rare in previous years. New projects such as Hoan Kiem Theater, National Exhibition Center or Pearl Theater (West Lake Opera House) are proof of the vision of creating world-class cultural infrastructure, directly serving the entertainment industry.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son, full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, the capital city has a favorable geographical location, along with a thousand-year-old cultural and historical foundation that is always ready to inspire new entertainment products. In addition, Hanoi also pays great attention to the spiritual life of its people. This is also a place where many artists and famous art schools gather, with performance infrastructure and modern technology to organize major cultural activities and entertainment events.

In addition to experienced private units, recently, the proactive, responsible and effective participation of state agencies and local authorities in organizing and leading large-scale cultural and artistic events has contributed to creating a strong breakthrough in performing arts in Hanoi.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, commented: "Programs like "Fatherland in the Heart" have demonstrated the pioneering role and ability of major media agencies in creating cultural and spiritual spaces with wide-reaching influence."

The Draft Political Report of the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, term XVII, at the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee determined that in the period of 2025 - 2030, the City will innovate its thinking on cultural industry, perfect policy mechanisms, develop key products such as performing arts, promote tourism, expand international cooperation, and position the Creative City brand. The goal by 2030 is to turn cultural and tourism industries into spearhead economic sectors, forming cultural industry centers, including international entertainment centers.

The city will actively improve mechanisms and policies, mobilize cultural and human resources, and promote the spirit of dedication of intellectuals, artists, artisans, and the creative community for this development direction. The series of successful large-scale art programs and concerts recently are the driving force to push Hanoi to soon realize the goal of becoming the country's entertainment industry center, and to reach out to the region and the world.
