Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory Monument.
The project to restore and expand the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory Monument was started in November 2024, with a total area of over 29,500 m², including items: victory monument, outdoor exhibition and activity space, martyrs' stele, historical stele, souvenir counter... with a total investment of 106 billion VND. The entire project is designed in a traditional architectural style combined with modernity, in harmony with the landscape and historical value.
Provincial leaders burned incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs in the Relic Site.
It is known that here, on November 23, 1963, under the leadership and command of the Military Region 9 Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee and the Campaign Command, the armed forces of the Military Region together with the army and people of Ca Mau organized an attack, winning a great victory in the battle to destroy the Cai Nuoc and Dam Doi sub-regions and the Cha La stronghold. This victory broke the "Helicopter Transport" strategy, contributed to the bankruptcy of the enemy's "Special War" strategy, becoming a brilliant milestone marking a remarkable step forward in the leadership, command and coordination of the army, people of Ca Mau and the armed forces of Military Region 9.
The Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory historical site was ranked as a National Historical Site in 2016.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The inauguration of the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory Monument is a vivid manifestation of the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" that the Party Committee, government and people of Ca Mau province always respect and preserve. This will be a sacred "red address", where generations of descendants and tourists come to visit and commemorate, and at the same time, it will be a space for cultural and tourism activities, contributing to the development of the local socio -economy.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that functional units closely coordinate in the management, maintenance and repair of the works, ensuring that the Relic always maintains its solemnity and sustainability.
Comrade Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals who contributed to the construction and completion of the relic site.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to historical witnesses and families of those who contributed to the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La battle; and also presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with achievements and positive contributions in the process of building and completing the relic site.
