On December 11-12, the Ministry of Construction assigned the Department of Housing and Real Estate Market Management to lead the development and completion of this standard. This move was made based on the directives of the Government and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha in Notice No. 490/TB-VPCP, along with related documents.
According to the Ministry of Construction, the number of electric vehicles is increasing in existing apartment buildings and upcoming projects. However, there are currently no unified standards for the placement and operation of charging stations, especially in basement areas – where there is a potential risk of fire, explosion, and technical malfunctions.
The early issuance of regulations will help ensure the safety of citizens, while also aligning with the orientations for environmental protection, green growth, circular economy , and efficient energy use in the 2021-2026 period.
Along with finalizing the legal framework, the Ministry of Construction requests relevant units to proactively communicate and provide accurate and timely information on safety regulations when installing and operating electric vehicle charging stations in apartment buildings.
The Ministry of Construction stated that it will monitor and urge the early issuance of regulations to meet the practical requirements arising from the rapid development of clean energy transportation.
